This thread is for discussing the sequel to the most awesome RTS game of all time, StarCraft.

StarCraft II was announced on May 19th at Blizzard's World Wide Invitational in Seoul, South Korea. At that moment millions of gamers rejoiced and even more Koreans soiled their pants in unison.

Cool, I suppose. I knew it would happen eventually, but i'm not going to get overexcited. I hate when a company does bullshit hype stunts like this and thinks they can do no wrong. Even Blizzard can, and very well might.

The game looks pretty good, but i'm not sure if it looks 10 years later good. It's all a bit glowy, and I sort of preferred the darker look SC1 had. When it comes down to it, how it plays and how detailed the map editor are what matters to me. Never been good at RTS games to begin with.

Yeah it's 2 hours since I read it and I still can't quite comprehend that it occured. Of course it can still get fucked up like Ghost, and that's what you're hinting, but it's a totally different Game and unlike Ghost this one is sure to earn Blizz a ton of money, so I'm sure it'll get released. And oh boy, if it's even 70% as good as the original then it'll very well be something I'll spend hours playing.

I don't think there is a worry in this game being released. It's pretty sure to... it's just a matter of when.

It's not like they have been delaying and delaying a release date for it, they have just been working on other stuff.

Starcraft is possibly the best balanced RTS of all time. It will be very interesting to see how well they manage it a second time.
