This is another thread that can be revived by whomever has something to add to it.
This is the Avatars, Wallpaper, and Signature request and presentation thread. Please review the guidelines below for the posting of avatars, wallpapers, and signatures as well as the guidelines for requesting any of these. Posts that do not conform with these guidelines may be edited or removed without warning.
This thread is intended for Avatars, Wallpapers and Signatures that were CREATED by members of the Snafu Art community (though the images contained in them need not be created by Snafuers) and is NOT intended for avatars, wallpapers and signatures that you found or was made by someone else. Those should be posted in the 'Art that isn't yours' thread.
The source of the image used in the creation of Avatars, Wallpapers and Signatures should be credited appropriately (in text, with link is preferable).
[center] Avatars
Avatars are images that go under your username in forums and are meant to represent you.[/center]
- All Avatars posted in this forum MUST conform with Snafu forum Avatar guidelines. It should not be posted here if it can't be used here. This means they MUST be 100px*100px in size MAXIMUM, and around 5-20kB MAXIMUM in filesize. Avatars should also not contain any ridiculously annoying animations, such as blinking or flashing. I am the judge of what is annoying and I have a fairly low tolerance for such things, be advised.
- Avatars cannot be NSFW in ANY way. Since this is repeatedly displayed in forums and users cannot control whether or not it is displayed, NSFW is NOT acceptable.
- I DON'T CARE if your request is meant for another forum or whatever. To post it here, it must conform with SNAFU rules.
- Avatars posted here are assumed to be "free to use and distribute". If you don't want others taking your avatars and using them somewhere else, you must explicitly state that they are for your personal use.
- In the interest of computers not exploding, NO MORE than 25 avatars should be posted at one time (PARTICULARLY animated ones) and they should not be posted more than 5-wide, in the interest of not stretching the thread.
- If you have more than 25 avatars you wish to post at one time, you MUST link to an external gallery so people can control whether their computer explodes or not.
- To reiterate, this forum is intended for avatars YOU CREATED, not stuff you just found or your 'collection' or what have you.
[center] SignaturesSignatures are images that are intended to go in the 'signature' section at the bottom of your post in forums.[/center] - All signatures posted in this forum MUST conform with Snafu forum signature guidelines. It should not be posted here if it can't be used here. This means they MUST be 150 px in height MAXIMUM, NO WIDER than 300px and around 25-40kB MAXIMUM in filesize. The IDEAL signature is 468*60px or smaller. Signatures should also not contain any ridiculously annoying animations, such as blinking or flashing. [center] WallpapersWallpapers are images intended to be used as the background for an operating system, such as your home PC.[/center] - All Wallpapers posted in this forum MUST be a standard size for the device they are intended for. For example, a wallpaper for a PC MUST be 640*480, 1024*768, 1152x864, 1280x960 or 1280x1024. You may post or requests wallpapers for your PSP, cell phone or whatever else takes a wallpaper, but it should conform with the device-appropriate sizes and resolutions.
- Wallpapers may be NSFW but MUST be tagged as such. Wallpapers may NOT be pornographic in nature.
- Wallpapers posted here are assumed to be "free to use and distribute". If you don't want others taking your wallpapers and posting them somewhere else, you must explicitly state that they are for your personal use. It is also recommended that you embed a credit to yourself in wallpapers, so that if it is distributed without credit, it can still be traced back to you.
- WALLPAPERS MAY NOT, under any circumstances, BE POSTED IN LINE, ie with [img] tags!! They MUST be linked using a url.
- To reiterate, this forum is intended for wallpapers YOU CREATED, not stuff you just found or your 'collection' or what have you.
*** [center] RequestsYou may request to have an image converted into avatars, signatures or wallpapers as described above..[/center] - You may only request avatars and signatures that conform with Snafu forum rules, as described in the above sections.
- I DON'T CARE if your avatar is meant for another forum or whatever. To post it here, it must conform with SNAFU rules.
- You must provide the image you wish converted. It is not the job of the artist to do the research. Images should be an appropriate size for conversion, and that means LARGER than the intended final product. If the image has to be 'scaled up' it will not work. If the image does not exist (it is only an idea), you must obtain the image by another means, ie in the request thread (linked in the index). If your desired avatar and signature is only text and colour, no image is ok.
- You MAY NOT request conversion of an image that is NSFW (for avatars and signatures) or pornographic. If you want a wallpaper made, the image you provide MUST be linked with a NSFW tag, as everywhere else in this forum.
- You MAY NOT request a particular artist for your project, requests made here are GENERAL. If you have a particular artist in mind, you should PM him or her.
- Be prepared for the fact that artists here may not be willing or able to fulfill your request. If there are no responses, do not pursue, accept it
with grace.
- You MAY NOT bump this thread repeatedly with the same request.
- THANK any artist who fulfills your request. This is not a rule, but common courtesy. If you are not grateful/thankful for the piece you have received, artists will probably not honour your future requests.
