Personality: Rai is an extremely selfish person, he’s always thinking about himself and only worries about getting what he wants. The only upside to him being selfish, is that he doesn’t really desire anything other than enjoying himself. He’s a very stubborn person, who will argue over even the smallest of details. Eventhough he’ll never admit to it, he is very much a perfectionist who always has to have things the way he wants them to be. Rai shows almost no respect to others, which is very much a rarity within the Hyuga clan. Normally the Hyuugas are very timid and show respect to their superiors while minding the way the speak to most people. But Rai is nothing like that, ever since he was born he’s been a natural at rebelling against what he’s supposed to do. He almost always is disrespectful towards others, never really caring much what they think, or what they’re capable of. Rai is anything but timid, he’ll always let you know what he’s thinking and he makes sure that his opinion is heard.
ATS- He’s much more disciplined than before, he’d left all of his childish ambitions behind himself and is now completely devoted to proving himself to be a great ninja. His personality is much more calm and collected than it was before, he’ll speak with a lot more respect towards people and will almost never shoot off his mouth.
Appearance: Like the rest of the Hyuuga clan, Rai has the trademark white eyes. These blank emotionless eyes show that he has the bloodline limit of the Byakugan. But this is the only part of Rai that resembles the traditional style that the Hyuuga clan normally boasts. His black hair is kept fairly short, messy around the sides and back with a few locks that spike up on the top of his head. Other than his un tidy hair, he keeps his face well kept and is considerably handsome in the eyes of most people. Normally he lets his forehead protector hang around his neck, he doesn’t really pay much attention to the thing unless he knows he’ll need the extra protection. And on some occasions when he knows he’s in for a tough fight, he’ll strap it along his forehead where it’s supposed to be.
His clothes also don’t resemble the normally traditional robes worn by the Hyuuga clan. Rai has a loosely fit gray and black t-shirt, that is left wide open in the front. Underneath his shirt, he is only wearing several white bandage esque wrappings that cover his entire chest up to the neck. On his right arm he sports the same bandage looking cloth, only for the most part you can’t see it. Over top of the bandaging, he has a long black and fingerless glove that reaches all the way up to his elbow. His left arm only has the bandages going down his arm, and is absent of the black glove. His pants are the same gray and black color as his t-shirt, and are also baggy enough to allow for free movements.
ATS- Rai’s appearance has only changed somewhat since the time that has passed. He’s slightly taller, and a tiny bit more lean than he was before. The boy's skin has a slightly darker look to it, he'd gained a slight tan and his skin isn't like what it used to be. He now has several lightly colored scars on his body, several on his chest, arms, and back. His hair has grown out, and is at least three inches longer than it used to be. The dark locks of hair fall out and over his eyes, and through the tufts of hair you can barely see his white eyes. Rai's hair falls just overtop of something that he seems to be hiding, there's a large and somewhat faded scar that stretches the full length of his forehead. His glove has some additional bracing to it, and is now partly metal at the knuckles. Attached to the brace is a headband from the sand village, the place that he spent most of his time at while he was away. Rai’s clothing hasn’t really changed much, other than its color is a much more darker gray than it was before.
Justus/Skills:
Byakugan- A bloodline limit that is passed down through the Hyuuga clan. It allows the user to see through certain objects, and is capable of seeing the inter chakra networks of living beings. The person using this ability also gains a certain “second sight” that makes them capable of sensing anything around them in a 50 meter radius. Another ability that is gained from the Hyuuga clan is the fact that he can use the gentle fist style of fighting. This style of fighting targets a person’s tenketsu, and attacking the inter chakra networks, dealing massive internal damage to opponents. It allows the person to release chakra through their body and into the opponent, either shutting down or overdriving a person’s chakra system.
ATS- After extensively training himself, he has extended his range of sight far beyond his normal capabilities.
Full body strike- This is the self developed form of Taijutsu that Rai uses. It is a well balanced blend of his family’s gentle fist style, with his own unique style of normal taijutsu. The normally used gentle fist style, heavily relies on the hands and dealing internal damage to opponents chakra systems. But Rai decided that it just wasn’t enough to attack a person like that, he wanted a more blunt way of dealing damage with immediate effects. His form that he developed on his own, is the near opposite of the gentle fist style. Instead of dealing internal damage with his fists, he uses his feet to attack and defend, causing the opponent external wounds with blunt trauma and strength. It is a well balanced form that uses all of his taijutsu abilities with very good results.
ATS- His fighting style has developed far beyond its original capabilities. He still relies on a mixture of foot and hand techniques, but all of it is heavily reliant on chakra control now. His feet attacks, now have the capability of dealing chakra point damage, instead of only dealing regular damage.
Divination Whirl- Rai has not yet mastered this defensive technique. It is an ability that uses his chakra control to spin and defend any oncoming attacks. This is an absolute defense because it has a 360 radius, and is extremely effective when done correctly. Rai for some reason can only use this technique once correctly before he inexplicably messes up the second time he tries to use it.
ATS- After the timeskip, he has completely mastered this technique, and is now able to use it more than just once in succession.
Spread Shot- Normally Rai releases his chakra through touch into his opponents, but he does have one range attack that he sometimes uses as his trump card. His spread shot ability sends the chakra points in his hands into overdrive, allowing him to expell an excessive amount of chakra through his fingers all at one time. It makes his chakra temporarily visible, and it shoots out from his hands giving it a long range of attack. Depending on how he uses this technique, he can either concentrate it heavily onto one point, dealing massive external damage along with the internal damage. Or he can spread it into a wide ranged attack, only dealing some physical damage while hitting multiple chakra points. Either way it leaves him drained of a massive amount of chakra, and normally he is unable to expel anymore chakra in the arm he used for quite some time afterwards.
ATS- Because of his increased chakra control, and chakra levels, he is now able to do far more damage than what he was before. His focus and spread shots are much more powerful, accurate, fast, and ranged than before.
ATS- Machingun- This ability is a variation on his spread shot and focus shot. Much like the other two, Rai shoots his own chakra from his hands, and is capable of sealing points and dealing damage at a distance. But this technique is much more conservative of Rai’s chakra, it only uses a small amount every time he uses it, and this gives him the capability of using it for extended periods of time. It only uses up as much chakra as he’d normally put into a needle, so it isn’t devastating to his body when he uses it. This ability is far less powerful than the other two, it’s only capable of sealing one point at a time, but it must strike the same spot more than once and can only deal slight physical damage. He's seldomly able to actually seal a person's point with this technique, but the damaging effects of his chakra can still be very painful reguardless.
Chakra Needles- Like the spread shot, these needles allow Rai to attack an enemy’s chakra system at a ranged distance. Unlike the spread shot, this technique consumes very little chakra, but is considerably less effective. Only a direct hit to a person’s tenketsu will allow for a successful release of chakra, and since the needle’s points are so thin, this makes it even more difficult.
ATS- Chakra Slice- Rai learned some interesting things through his travels, and he also developed some things that he learned when he was back in Konoha. From what he experienced in his final fight in the fire village, he learned that he could send chakra through weapons. Playing on this discovery, he developed it into a deadly technique that he calls “The Chakra Slice” He sends small strands of chakra out from the tip of whatever weapon he’s holding, then he swings the weapon releasing the chakra outwards during his attack. The chakra moves in a straight arch outwards in the direction that he swung the weapon, dealing massive amounts of physical damage to whatever the chakra strikes, and it capable of slicing cleanly through almost anything, but it's dependant on how much chakra Rai puts into it.
ATS NEW- ChakraBomb- This is a newly developed technique that Rai had created and developed upon his own creativity. He forms a massive charge of energy into his hand, one that drains a massive amount of his chakra and grows to a size proportionate to that of its power. This ball of energy is extremely heavy, so much so that it becomes difficult for Rai to move with once he has activated the technique.
He can do two things with this attack, one being he can simply throw the ball of energy, having it explode upon contact with anything that it strikes. But the most deadly aspect of this technique, is that he is able to store the charge into any object that he sees fit. This allows him more mobility, and gives his attack more of a surprise effect to it.
By being able to store it into items like chakra needles, the ground, or people, he can detonate these items at any given time, and can even save the charges to be used at a later point. The more charges that are used at once, the more powerful the explosion becomes, also, the amount of chakra placed into the charge determines the power of the explosion as well.
Equipment: The only equipment that he carries with him are his chakra needles. These needles absorb his chakra into the tips. And much like his Spread shot technique, this allows him to disable chakra points at a distance.
ATS- After the timeskip, Rai has added a few things into his arsenal. He no longer relies solely on his chakra needles, now he has a couple other things that he can use as weapons. His boots have been changed from the traditional toeless sandal, he now wears light boots that have soft metal edges around the bottom, front, and heel of it. They were specially designed for his needs, and they allow for superb chakra control within his feet. Another new weapon that he carries, is a very short and thin sword. It’s too long to be considered a knife, but too short to really be called an actual sword. The blade itself is only one sided, and the metal is very thin, not really providing enough strength to make it an asset in battle. But like all of Rai’s other weapons, it’s made out of a material that is used in chakra control. He places a small amount of chakra into the blade, increasing its strength and deadliness.
Background: Rai was born into the head family of the Hyuuga clan and much was expected from his noble upbringings. But Rai never liked being told what to do, he almost instinctively liked to go against the grain. Despite the fact that he was raised to be respectful and a high classed person, he always fought his teachings and did as he pleased to do. This resentful attitude towards his family methods made him somewhat an outcast from his own clan. They of course didn’t disown him or anything, but he was given very harsh treatment nonetheless. But he never minded, he much preferred having things harder on himself. He believed that having things tough would only make him stronger. His beliefs were indeed the truth, and through his harsh training he only became stronger and more resentful of those people around him. Many people saw him as being a no class punk that was only good at fighting, and in many senses that was the truth. In fact, his family denied him from taking the chunin exams several times because the believed that he did not have enough respect to become the next level ninja. But eventually as the years passed, and he became stronger, they finally allowed him into the test.
ATS- Rai was given a special mission one year ago, and it was to act as a sort of emissary for Konoha. It was given to him by the Hokage himself, and Rai was sent out of the village on his important mission. In his time away, Rai has done nothing but push his body to its breaking point. He’s done a great amount of traveling and ended up in the wind nation. Rai had done most of his training on his own, but he picked up a few things from the sand village during his stay. He’d even gone so far as to helping them through several missions, earning his right to become an honorary member of their nation.
