Yah, I read it...

I dunno, Dee Dee seemed a bit out of character...

Not just during that whole speech, but the idea of Dexter going to her for help.

If you watched the show, Dexter did go to her for help.

So? I like the change. It fits.

I used to watch the show, but I don't remember any episodes where he actually went to her for advice.

I like change as well, but I'm saying that this is out of character (or, at least, my view of her character).

... maybe I should go back and study the cartoon... or at least watch afew episodes, it's been two years since I've last seen the show, I do believe.

The thing that got me was her knowing that she was going to die or something. Maybe the next pages will tell us.

Does it matter if it's such a small change in character? Even siblings have their times of ceasefire, much like Dexter's Chewie Bitums episode.

Hell, if Zim became a good guy and helped the Power Puff girls, and it made sense, i'd like it.

Not just help, but show a compassionate side.

Dexter isn't soo much hateful towards Dee Dee, he just is annoyed that she ruins his work time. But if you think about it, Dee Dee is doing the right thing.

He's going to feel awful when he gets older knowing that he didn't have an eventful childhood, and Dee Dee causing havoc will give him something to look back on and chuckle.

They don't say THAT in the cartoon, now do they? ;)

You have to assume some of the story points that they never point out, and Bleedman did a wonderful job portraying Dexter going to Dee Dee for advice at times to free his mind.

Dee Dee really isn't out of character.
Dexter and Dee Dee have had a couple times when there was more brotherly love  than sibling rivalry :gun: between them.

But anyhoo... darn it! Another week of darned cliffhangers!!!!! :brickwall: :brickwall:

I'd say this all captures DeeDee's character rather eloquently. There were times in the show when she was surprisingly well-spoken. One speech in particular comes to mind, when she mocked Dexter's quest for "answers to questions that nobody asked." For those who don't know, that was the episode when he went to her for spiritual guidance. In the climax he went berserk with emotion, rampaging through the lab until DeeDee slapped him out of it, saying he'd changed from a benign creator to a "mad destroyer" and confessing that she was wrong to try and change him. Before he could comfort her she ran off crying, leaving him to quietly begin repairs on his lab.
...Man, it's hard to concentrate with that green emoticon incessantly puking.
Anyway, contemplating her own mortality would definitely bring out her more subdued side, like it would for anyone. It's this change in personality that creeps Dexter out, like it would, subsequently, for anyone in the company of someone contemplating their mortality.
I say, Genndy'd be proud. That collage of classic cartoon moments is heartwrenching.

*Looks at new pages*

:ogle:

It looks to me like Deedee is planning on commiting suicide and is telling Dexter that she doesn't want to come back.

I don't consider myself a geek or a nerd reading it at my age.

More or less nostalgic, and I enjoy the twist Bleedman gave it to accomadate each character.

Which is why I am begining my own. Bleedman is onto something, and it's almost genious.

Eh, I doubt it, but it IS a possibility. She seems too...happy...to commit suicide.

I think it's more of a terminal illness that she found out, and didn't want to tell Dexter yet.

Their parents probably know, and since Dexter is in 1st grade, they don't think he would understand.

They never understood dex.

Hey, anyone else notice how Otto's "watch" has changed configuration? Apparently those triangular components rotate during time travel. It's the little touches that set good comics apart.

Eh, it was very hard to tell...but I think I see what you're talking about.

Iunno, maybe it's a change that Bleedman meant, and maybe not. *shrug*

Man, Dee Dee must really want to not let Dexter make a new Dee Dee. Anyway, I think Tuddrussell should probably have a cameo in the manga.

I kinda like the change. It's just like, Bleedman expressing his own views on the character, and yeah it does kinda work with the story, too. Still, you're right...kinda does take from the free spirit with out a care in the world of DeeDee...must mean something really bad's gonna happen eh?

Would make sense. Dexter has the means and the technology to do such a thing... I imagine though that Deedee's psyche is giving him trouble and he doesn't really realize it. Like her mind is rejecting the new cybernetic body, and thus, it won't work.

BTW: Love where this is going. Can hardly wait to see what happens.
