The contest is open for submissions until July 7th, so you can enter until then. ^_^ Anything after that will be for exhibition.

Thanks for the warm welcome and clearing that up for me! I'll get started then! ::runs off with pencils and paper::

I'm not exactly talented when it comes to art, but I decided to try my hand at this. Drawn with my mouse on Flash:

Ahh every time I come back to this thread I have like 50 questions to answer! XD I don't mind, please
keep asking them, but be understanding or repeat your question if I miss it.

Thanks Relick and others for helping me answer questions :)

Aneri wrote:Hi! I know that this contest is about challenging yourself and you are judged on previously done works more than against others, but, seeing as I am brand new , can I still enter, or will my art be exibition only?

Welcome to the forum! Even if you are new you are still judged by your 'previous works'. I'm fairly experienced and can tell what a person's level is by their drawings, and how much effort they put into something, etc. even if I can't see a gallery of their previous stuff. So no worries! Your piece will only be exhibition if it violates the rules (has no Snafu chars or is late) or if you choose it be exhibition.

IOZ wrote:Spike, I'm not aiming to actually take her outta the running. That would entail me winning, and I have no intention of doing that. Too many better people entered. XD

Well sheesh you sure aren't going to win with that kinda confidence :P

Acktoo wrote:Endling entered? Craaap.

I lose by default.

(Not like I entered yet, but still...)

Guys, guys! Endling entered his piece as EXHIBITION, see??
Endling wrote:I'm not entering, as I have enough to do what with updating Everafter, but I just had to do something. XD Put it up over on Deviant..

That means it's exhibition! Anyone is free to mark their piece as exhibition if they choose.
EVEN THEN:

Da RULEZ -- Judging criteria wrote: Please note that you are judged against YOURSELF (your previous demonstrated works) and not so much against each other!! In this contest, a new artist who puts in a tremendous amount of creativity and effort can defeat an experienced artist who has more skill and experience, but didn't push themselves.

Adorable :D Welcome to the forums! ^_^

Keep up the great work, guys! :D

Having your piece being smaller than the scanner bed size is the *best* way to scan something, but you can always scan it in pieces and fit it together in photoshop.

Hmm, as a long time fan of Bleedman's work, I'll have to find a way to contribute.

(Gets out his stylus)

Now where did I put inkscape?

Eh, between jphayden and simtropolis, and now this site, my personal life will be gone... o.O

Looks like a lively bunch here, Ms. Jamfish... never been much of one for comic forums, but this looks like it will be fun.

RC out!

Here is my finished entry. I'm sorry if it's too big.

The top banner says 'Poker might be a simple game, but with these guys...', Junior's hand is a Royal Flush in diamonds, and Travis' (that is his name, right? If not, then what is it?) hand is a 5 to 9 straight in diamonds, and the little circular stacks are their chips.
Peter: Oh my god, Brian, there's a message in my Alphabits. It says, 'Oooooo.'
Brian: Peter, those are Cheerios.

Action packed, Cadaverous!

And that one of yours is super cute, Katy XD

Sorry about my entry, guys... Right now I work for Ford and this is the only way they'd let me draw it while I was on the clock...

Image

You'd have to be fairly well versed in my previous happenings here to understand why I drew Travis as a girl. BUT ISNT SHE CUTE?!

We'll leave that to your imagination!

Cali, I'm afraid you guys were getting a little ragtag without me here to boss you around... And if there's one thing I don't like, it's the word "Ragtag".

Oh man the entries are GOOOD. I'm super interested in the Sprite comic story already and I want to know what happens. Flux that was fucking funny and I totally remember your other Snafu projects so I got the Travis girl thing. And Toffee Hotdog excellence yet again.

Gwahaha. Excellent. Now that my stylus is back in action, I made myself an avatar, and soon there will be, um, Death Jr. or something. I've always been a fan of the way Bleedman renders Dexter; and the redrawing of Zim & co is very, very cool. Gives me a splendiforous Idea. w00t
