Haha, yeah, they've been selling the menorah at Nook's ever since the day before Hannukah actually, so it's probably not your last chance to buy one.

I have a Christmas tree though :)

How many candles does it contain?

If seven, then it is not a jewish menorah, thats the kwanzaa one.

And if it has nine, it's the menorah.

If it's nine, LET ME IN YOUR TOWN MINE ISN'T SELLING THEM

I NEVER WANT TO STOP TALKING ABOUT AMINALS (sic).

Anyway. TWO QUESTIONS!

1) Is there a way to change the date and time *while inside Animal Crossing?* I know you can set it by changing the DS time, but I think I was drunk when I set my DS. I didn't realize it was 24hr time and I put the day wrong, somehow. So now, no matter what I do, ACtime is 1.5 days ahead of DStime. It's a minor annoyance, but something I'd like to fix.

2) A coconut washed up on my beach! Should I, like... plant it!? It's winter, I don't want to screw it up ;___;

I spent the whole day fishing on the way to and from the ski hill today. I really appreciate the new variety of fish in this version of AC <3 However, is it just me, or do mortgages seem way higher in this game ;__; and does anyone know how far they go?

THE AMINALS.

It does seem severly more steep.

As for the time thing, yeah... no idea in the least.

And finally, the coconut thing... yeah, personally I wouldn't take the chance and wait til' Spring. Coconut farming :)

Answer 1
When you come the screen where you choose your character, touch the phone. There you can change the time and date.

Answer 2
In order for your Coconut to grow, cut down another tree, dig up the trunk and plant the Coconut in that exact spot. And try planting it near the ocean.

I'm an absolute newbie with this Animal Crossing stuff, but I have found myself on a quest to buy a DS and this game due to the quirky fun-ness I see in it. Well, I'm actually on a quest to buy a DS to play a lot of great games I have heard of, but back to this...

There is one thing that is getting to me. It's that it looks like all of you guys are talking about the same items and have the same things happening in your towns. Is it because you all connect frequently and share items and adventures? Is it because you all played the previous versions of the game and just know how to get the cool stuff? Or is each player's gaming timeline of events going to be the same?

What i'm trying to get at is, just how varied is the game experience from one player to the next?

I would say the game experience is very different from one player to the next but this is what is similar:

Since the game is in 'real time', in every game we are all playing the same day of the year, in the same town. Thus, in everyone's town right now (assuming you set it right) it is Jan 3rd, Winter. Everyone had New Year's in their town on the 31st, for example. Also, because it's winter everywhere, we all get to build snowmen. That's just a function of it being winter.

The towns are also very similar in that they will always have a beach, a town hall, a store, trees, etc. But the terrain is randomly generated, like Sim City.

What is different:

Every player is different, either male or female and with slightly different features based on how they answered some questions. The location of their house is different, but we all start with the same size house and the same mortgage.

In the town: ALL the NPC's will differ from town to town, and they all have different personalities. The NPC's are really the crux of your gameplay experience. For example, in my town, I have three squirrels, a cat, a duck, a bunny, a penguin and a rhino. (thank god one of the squirrels moved out, ugh.) You'll never get the same answer from anyone, and the animals are always moving out and in.

The items that you get in the store are mostly random everyday in every town (except for utility things like axe, shovel, plants etc.), and you get different items randomly from different NPC's.

Therefore, it is a very different game for everyone: Everyone will interact with the different people in the town differently and will get different items. There are THOUSANDS of 'for house' items. Everyone will choose different items and clothes for themselves based on their personality! But the *game* is played the same in every town.

THE END OMG.

Added after 9 minutes:

Hey guys, you were right about the clock on the phone... that's weird though, you can't get to that option once you 'wake up'!

Yay! Good job. But yeah, right now my interior is still crap. I was never good at this whole 'decorating" gig.

But yeah, last HRA rating was like, 10,600 or so.

I want to see some of you guys' ratings. :O

I should resume playing today on the bus, going to work, since I finished reading my last book =p

Too bad I don't eat at Mcdonalds.

Or eat fast food in general.

At least my airport has WiFi.

anyway, I love mc's, so if brazilian mc's did that too, that would be so much fun...
but I'm really sad coz I think that isn't going to happen. Nintendo won't even allow me to register on WFC site because I don't live in US >.>
