Need Help: Gaming CPU

Postby Dibullba » Fri Sep 27, 2013 6:16 pm

Hi, I am looking to build a gaming CPU but have never actually had to pick the parts needed for building before. I am on a $1,200 budget. Games that I aim to play are RTS and MMORPG, so probably need a slight better emphasis on fps than graphics, but of course still keeping graphics acceptable. Any help would be greatly appreciated, whether you can share a build that would work best in that budget or direct me to a site that can help me with making good decisions.

Alright, so I believe I got everything I needed and my budget even raised a bit. So I just want to make sure everything will work well together: (excluded mouse and keyboard since those are accessories)
Case: Corsair Carbide Black
Graphics Card: GeForce GTX760
CPU: Intel i5-4670 (Decided against overclocking for longer lasting)
HSF: Thermaltake Frio Overclocking
Motherboard: Z87-G45 Gaming
Ram: Crucial Ballistix 8gb
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1tb
SDD: Decided not needed
Power Supply: Seasonic M12II
Monitor: Asus 23.6 LED-Lit

Total (including mouse and keyboard unspecified): $1,335-1,345

Getting a small SSD for running your OS and installing a few of your most used programs to it is well worth it. Also you have your HSF and CPU switched and didn't post a motherboard.

Updated and reason i decided against SDD is mostly because I only use the internet aside from possibly gaming, so I do not have a most used program. Improving loading speeds does seem nice, but its not necessary in my mind for the moment. Though it is always something i can add in the future if it seems more useful.
