If it's 2020, then I believe that it's Summer.

You should careless then, how could they have winter stuff in Tokyo ;)
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."

Right, but then Tokyo wouldn't have been awarded the games, it would have been a different city.

They don't hold all the games in a single city. For the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake, many of the events were held to the east of the city in the area around Park City. Salt Lake functioned as the host city and the indoor ice events.

EDIT: And yeah, it is the 2020 summer Olymics, so meh.

This seems like a silly argument. Just admit you didn't know Tokyo was hot and not near any mountains ;)

I will now manifest the stubbornness of a dwarf. :P

Lol, it doesn't matter anyways. It is going to be the Summer Olympics. You can't have Winter Olympics over there.

Summer Olympics are during the years divisible by 4. Just look at the last 2 digits of a number, if it's divisible by 4, then the entire number is. Winter Olympics take place during the even years that aren't divisible by 4.

I had to let my nerdy side out for a bit.

How's it a factoid? D:
Either I have the wrong definition for 'factoid' or my math is being questioned.

For some reason, I looked in my Akira manga to see the setting date. It's in 2030, so 10 years before the 2020 Olympics.

Would have been a huge coincindence.

I thought this place has collapsed into a dark dank abyss and yet; here you are. Myself though I am more excited for the 2018 Olympics in Korea, because well I am here.

i, for one, would relish the chance to see a north korean olympic event.

you know the opening ceremony would be INSANE.

and the closing ceremony would be EXPLOSIVE.

Illness has been kicking my arse lately. On topic, Olympics are pretty cool. I've never been a sporty person so someone being Olympic level, even if they come last, is pretty crazy good to me.
