Cool and hopeful animation projects started up by amateurs that were too big for them to handle and got dumped never to be continued or completed.

Those sprite fights. Those goddamn sprite fights. Also because of NG I am now apart of a animation crew. (even though I have yet to make an animation and there is barely any flash work going on)
Unfortunately animation crews and sprite fights seem to be nothing more than a fad.

Even though NG is mostly full of Egoraptor animators there are still very good animations I see there nowadays....

EDIT: Also I hate the new uploader for NG videos

Celebrity assassinations. What initially drew me to the site was a link to the Pikachu killer from pokemon.com.

Zone was thankfully not the first hentai flash artist i saw. Otherwise id have thought his quality was the standard for flash.

Now I feel old cause Zone is still a recent occurence in my head. I know Zone did porn back when Teen Titans was still popular which puts that stuff in the 2006-2007 range, but when I think of Newgrounds I think of stuff like the above mentioned celebrity assasination games or Kermit Kombat, or Ultimate Showdown which was all way before Zone got popular.

Come to think of it, even though I viewed a ton of hentai porn back then, I never visited Newgrounds due to anything hentai related.

Same. Zone really wasn't my association either. The time where I browsed newgrounds most were probably when I was around 13, which is a nice 11 years ago. I stopped browsing it about the time Zone made some of his first Teen Titans vids, I think.

Madness was always awesome. I like to watch the old ones then the new ones to see how much Krinkels improved over the years.

I liked the Bitey from Brackenwood videos.

Then there was TypeQueen, and his yearly unicorn videos, which later went viral on youtube. So was LemonDemon. And of course David Firth's vids, most notably Salad Fingers.

I remember the less popular badguys series, and the Castle series.
The Xombie series, before it was published as a book.
Supervillain videos were amazing.
Some of the clock videos were cool.
And of course, blockhead and mastermind series, because Swaim is great at indirect comedy.
Oh, I remember watching the RAB series, from Dave C Lovelace, back when I enjoyed the old school South Park.
Even Tankmen was cool.
So I suppose my fav years on NG were 2004-2006, after that I stopped visiting NG nearly entirely.
So how old was I... 16+?

This may seem unbelievable to you guys, but I didn't really make use of the adult/porn side of the site nearly at all, ever. I watched some Zone because that quality...

Oh god, I do remember that one.

Wouldn't magikarp actually run out of PP for splash and use that self-damaging eventually? Not that I'm just criticizing the joke, I'm just being nerdy.

Also, I actually managed to find the one game I remember I played a lot once. Absalom, it was called. 13 years old, the first one. Yuuup.

Neither got finished though, they were projects that ran for years after all.

Oh and let's not forget from back in the RO days, I'm sure everyone watched things like this at least once. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/121340

Mega Man X RPG: Chapter 1
By ChamberACR

Honestly, it was a lot of fun, and was surprisingly well-designed. But he never released the next full chapter. :'(

Pico was a lot of fun. The first time. Didn't it get remade like 10 times? The bosses were cool, too. Like the ninja in the bathroom.

My favorite games on Newgrounds were the Epic Battle Fantasy series. 1 and 4 were flawed in their own right, mostly because 1 was too hard, lacked a save system and didn't have original music. While 4 was WAY too long for a browser game, suffered from lag... but that's really about it. It's probably the biggest flash game ever made, averaging about 10-20 hours to beat.

I remember when NG flash animation crews were very popular back then, unfortunately most of them are dead.
The wars that would appear between them.

Doesn't anyone remember "There she is?" A very heart-warming series. That series is getting its own DVD collection.

How long does this video take?! Fuck! Nevermind, just realizes the video loops...

Still one of my favorite series.
