I thought they were okay. The Package was my favorite. But most of them had a few problems in plot. The Duel was unique with it's animation style.

That... what?

How do you do a voice-based RP? Like a D&D game? Saying your actions?

Blehhhhhhhh.

The first two are static image vids but give an idea vocally how they work, while the third actually shows how a session works. Both settings use the same tools so with the first two just imagine the actual sessions working like the third vid.

Not DnD specifically, but tabletop roleplaying, yes, which I guess is synonymous with DnD for a lot of people.

Sounds neat.
Yeah, when people say tabletop first thing I think of is DnD. I know there's a lot of other games/systems out their, and a few I've wanted to try quite a bit (Dark Heresy or one of the other 40k TTRPGs, for starters), but I can never get the folks I play with to do something besides DnD, Pathfinder, or d20 Modern/Future.

I don't see why. It's the same as tabletop minus peoples physical presence (faces especially) minus physical dice and paper.

I've played a couple of the 40k ones, pretty good fun.

Veg, I loves me some tabletop. I'd be game to game over Skype, depending on when it went down. Also, what system are you using?

D&D? Would you let Rokku join you? He's got enough character sheets for a game himself.

It's not DnD, no. Read on...
Hana wrote:Veg, I loves me some tabletop. I'd be game to game over Skype, depending on when it went down. Also, what system are you using?

It's homemade. In fact, it's sorta a playtest, except I'm only playtesting a different iteration of a system that I've already playtested a lot with very good results. I'm pretty self-depreciating, especially with products of my own, and even I think it's pretty good. The system is story focused instead combat/tactics focused system. The players or the group as a whole actually constructs the plot and the story, it's very sandboxy, but the system provides lots of inspiration and makes sure they don't get lost. It's inspired by Fiasco and that thing in my sig, if that means anything to you.

With Hana I'm up to five players which is already too many, but it's good to have a spare. I'mma hold out on Rokku for now.

Ah, shame you don't need any more Veg, I've never done a tabletop RP before and thought it might be fun to try out.

Well, now that interest is perking up, I might run different sessions for different people. The stated goal of this vacation really was putting as much roleplaying in it as possible and being able to do it from the comfort of my home, I can run multiple groups. Or get a job, but not like I'm gonna do that...

Well I'd love to see some sort of Tabletop group done with you fellow snafuers if given a good setting/game, I personally wanna try out some VtM as I'm on a hype for it atm.

I've always found tabletop stuff kinda awkward online. It'd be interesting to see how snafu handles a game of Mage: The Ascension, though.

It is sorta awkward, honostly. Compared to actual, physical pen'n'paper, it feels like something is... Missing. It's also super convenient though, much easier than getting five like-minded adults together in the same room for four hours.

And who's doing Mage: The Ascension now?

Never looked at the actual tabletop fighting wargame, actually, just the Pen and Paper RPGs.

How's the new Tau stuff though?
