That's an awful design, i thought we had left VHS players well behind.
On the new Guilty gear game, i can say i'm excited, though i'm wondering why they even made 3D models of the characters if they were still going to configure the motions of the models to simulate the frames of their pixel art counterparts (that's how they managed to give the impression they were in 2D, i personally suspect they made some sort of "3D Spritesheet" of every model and then simply assigned each character state to it's appropiate model, what amazes me is how well they pulled it off).

I'll still probably wind up getting an Xbox One, if not for particularly good reasons. Mostly because xbox has the games I like and it's the console I'm used to now. I have a Wii, but I can't remember the last time I used it for something other than netflix. I think it was to play drunken rockband on my birthday
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."
Shenmue 1 and 2 HD exclusive for the Wii U. Monster Hunter for the Wii U. Smash Bros, new LoZ, 3 new exclusive Sonic games... So far that's what interests me. And I doubt the artstyle for the new LoZ will be like Twilight Princess. Fans complained that it was too dark, apparently.
I don't think many 30 something adults are going to buy an Xbox solely for its media capacity.
People are still going to want to have the better gaming experience. Teenagers are also important and they're generally going to have a lot of hardcore gamers. So the parents will buy the console they want, then the family will use that console as their entertainment device when the teen isn't playing games.
