So I'm out walking around at about 2:30 AM, when at at a corner near the freeway I get frightened noticing there is a person passed out and perfectly nestled inside a bush right beside me. I keep on walking and about 10 steps later a guy stops asking me if I need a ride. I say no because I only live down the street, but I say there is a person passed out right by me that could use a ride. I wasn't really concerned about the guy because he's wearing clothing from a high school and I'm taller and built better than him, plus I live in one of the safest cities in the nation. We both approach the person, and it turns out it's a woman. I have no idea what drugs she's on but at any rate I'm ready to bolt. We get her up after a few minutes, feeling very awkward about the whole affair seeing as there are cars passing us at an intersection (not that anyone could see her in the bush). Anyways, we get her in and I get in too, because I'm not going to pawn off a stranger to another stranger. We get to talking and seeing as she is inebriated she can't really communicate, I find out he works at a restaurant I just went to yesterday, and he was just promoted today to waiter, the only guy waiter at the store. Means he's vacating a job as a busboy that at a minimum pays better than what I have, so I can apply there if I want, and obviously this reference will be bona fide and glowing. Not sure if I want to apply there, but man what a weird night. We drop her off and all is good and he drops me off. She probably won't even remember what happened in the morning, but she will be wondering why her car is still at the bar and how she got to her house 7 miles away and why she smells like a bush.
Last summer I went out walking like this and I encountered a girl I used to be very close friends with just smoking in her driveway at 2 AM (she too, scaring the crap out of me as I didn't see her) and we walked around for hours before she drove me back to my place at dawn.
2 AM is weird.
