You should really see a doctor about it, also maybe get physical therapy to help prevent atrophy. Do you have issues straightening your arm at the elbow? Also most nerve damage doesn't come from cuts more so from pinching a nerve in bad sleeping posture or other less traumatic sources.

@ Yog: If you do want to learn to use your other hand, what EM said is pretty much what you'd have to do. It's all about training it. But Whatis's suggestion about going to the doctor would be better.

I thought I fixed it, too.

So does this mean that'll it keep getting weaker?

Yes, you fool, the mirror.

We even discussed that this was going to happen to your hand earlier.

How do you know this?

Not saying I don't believe you, I completely do, I'm just wondering how you knew.

Because I have severed tendons in my hand, and sprained joints, and received physiotherapy for both, and since I was lazy with my physio for my tendons in my hand, some of my fingers are not as strong as they were.

People say that cracking your knuckles makes your grip weaker (not the same thing as cracking knuckles giving arthritis, that is confirmed to be false). If you do that on one hand, try gripping without having cracked your knuckles in a while.

Actually, I have tried to do other things in my left hand, just to see if I can do them. I brush my teeth with my left hand at times, and I can even use chopsticks in them, too. I don't think I'll ever be able to write with the left hand, though. But, if you are set on this, try doing small things first.
One time when I was high, I thought I was in an ambulance dying. Turns out I was just eating sherbert.

Ahaha, thing is, I've actually been doing physical therapy. It just hasn't really been working.

And Whatis, in response to your earlier question, there's a slight delay when I use my right arm.

It's like slower than the other.

You're not a physiotherapist

Just go at your PT harder than before. It's like taking antidepressants for a week then saying they have no effect - it doesn't really work that way. Most people fail PT because they don't do it full-bore, not because PT failed them.

If it still doesn't work then you may need surgery to fix it, otherwise spending the rest of your life using your non-dominant hand is going to be pretty annoying, especially if you're going from right to left in a society that prefers right-handedness.

Did you cut your hand or higher up toward the elbow? Because this sounds more like radial neuropathy, which is generally from pinching the nerve up near the armpit or the elbow pit. The causes are more from falling asleep with your arm over the back of a chair, pad positioning of crutch pads, sleeping in a bad position while intoxicated or breaking the humerus.

I dunno, how many times do we have to tell you to do that before you will?

Oh, gee, maybe that might work.

Nah, to be honest, I've done a lot of things you guys have suggested in the past. I though that was evident.

He's been like that ever since that one doctor grabbed his balls and told him to cough.

Also depressing fact is that as a man approaches 100 years old the odds of getting prostate cancer approaches 1.
