The only bad thing is that Dave only posts SharkRobot ads months at a time. He hasn't interacted with members in years I think.

Ah, I remember when Dave posted. We were cool IIRC, I can't remember if we ever got into an argument...most likely we did at some point XD.

How was Dave like? I never knew because he's rarely on nowadays.

Dave was more or less like the rest of us. He liked nerdy stuff. He discussed/debated it. He discussed/debated more serious, IRL stuff too (to my memory, he was rather active in that regard).

So, I guess at the time I'd say he was outspoken. But generally a decent fellow, sometimes got uppity but fairly approachable to the members more or less.

DAT feel when you remember Spruce's avatar is a reference to Smaug and you're not sure how many people beside you recall that.

"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."

Oh God we're old!

We've been here for 9 years.

Nine.
Years.

That's almost a third of my life at this point.

Oh. OH!

I wouldn't have thought of it if you hadn't said it, but I do remember Smaug had that avatar.

So that's at least 6 people, including me, remembering Smaug and still posting here. Nice to know.

I don't give a damn on what you think. Big discount on comics means I get to go on a buying spree of comics.

About what I think, mate.

If you pirate all the comics you read, like me and Hiryu do, since buying them where we live would be insane, free comic-book day is nothing to be excited about.

With that said, if I paid 4$ for roughly 20 pages of content, I can see how a discount becomes something to be happy about.

I remember Smaug, I actually had to search the users to make sure that Spruce Moose, wasn't actually Smaug with a changed name.

As for free comic book day, they never really give out anything worth the drive, for me at least. Most of the time they're kid comics, which are great because they interest the younger generations, or Archie Comics, which I could care less for.

I seriously need to go to the comic shop soon though, the drive is the thing that's holding me back.

We can change anyone's username if they ask us. There's a thread for it in Spam, or else you can PM one of us.

I have a question that I've been thinking about for a while. Why are child-killers so hated in prisons?

Because it's reprehensible to everyone

really?

you don't get why it's worse to make victims of those least capable of both defending themselves and understanding what's happening to them?

I think it's more, he doesn't get why "evil" people would care.

Kainsword, criminals have their own moral values, too. Almost every human being has ethical views. And as said above, targeting children is considered reprehensible almost universally.

if you kill someone over something else: that's business. whether it's some stolen cocaine or an adulterous fling: there's a clear motive for the aggressor. these people have reasons for their actions. there is no good reason to kill a child. unless it was like... baby hitler and you went back in time.
