Plus, racoons are much cuter than possums. Possums are ugly as fuck.
As I saw the creature, I was as white as an egg. I was so scared I might crack from fear. As the humanoid began to lunge after me, I was walking on egg shells from how scared I was. It grabbed me, took me to its station, and cracked me open. The last thing I saw were my yellow insides cooked on a pan. Human nature is as evil as a rotten egg.

Honestly, I've dealt with some pretty cheeky raccoons here, and never seen a possum
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."

Cities are notorious for possums and raccoons, all the garbage. It's also not rare to see a fox or even the occasional deer.

A deer in the city? Ridiculous.

Not really, during the running season they can be found all around PA and they'll creep down along the rivers into the city occasionally.

No deer here, no woods or anything nearby, but there are rabbits on the roads near the farmlandy areas

No wildlife in Downtown L.A. I guess it's only for cities near forests/huge parks.

Granted, KC does have a lot of green about. Not a concrete jungle by any means.

I see a lot of deer at a cemetary I go to. It's cuz they love eating the flowers the mourned leave for their deceased. Damn deers.

I'm in Philly, there's a few parks but there should be no reason for deer besides the rivers and the fact that state is packed with the bastards.

Today, I saw a horse scratch its ear like a dog or cat would... You know, with its hind leg. I found it very perplexing to watch
