And the good lord sayeth: Come forth The Talk Thread XVIII!

This forum can be a scary place, 'cause we got lax rules: let's see your war face. Take a breath, and roll the dice, you might find out we're really nice.

Those skins are all over the map. How does that work? Did they have to get permission to make skins like that?

Would that cost money to get the rights to do that? Would it be worth it?

Instead of wasting time blaming it on some guy, I feel that more time should be used fixing issues instead, and talking about them in parts and pieces, studying the obstacles in each one.

This mentality of "BUSH RUINED EVERYTHING", while correct in many ways, has gone on so long that it's sounding whiny.

It's an answer that can be used to brush aside the problem and throw one's hands up in the air.

My point is, I wish I could hear how the problem was being solved in detail, not about the person who caused it. It's a tired joke, one that I've heard so much by now, it's gone from something to smile and nod about, to something that's groan inducing.

I am in no way defending the man, but I am frankly tired of politicians using him as an excuse to avoid discussing the issues in the present.

Wow, I have no idea why that caused me to rant in such a way.

Obviously some people use it as an excuse, but there is a lot to learn about what he did wrong, so it is worthwhile to discuss it to know what to avoid in the future. His presidency isn't history either, a great deal of what he did is still very relevant today. Of course nothing is substantive though when it comes from a politician's mouth for a press conference or whatever. It's all politicking and if you listen to any of it you'll get tired of whatever's being said real quickly.

Well, that answer satisfies me.

I dunno, I just never liked it when politicians played the blame game, instead of doing something, or at least making a plan.

It's why I don't care for politics, because all I see are conmen that promise things that they have no intention of fulfilling. I understand that sometimes, you don't have the ability to act on those promises, but then, why make the promise in the first place?

You guys know I used to believe in anarchy if it meant leaving me to my former hermit ways, but that anarchy was also based on the inflation of anger towards the government for lying much of the time, as well. Hell, Bush caused that a lot of that anger to take root.

Urgh, I hate ranting like this. And I hate talking about politics, but I feel I needed to get this off my chest, I guess.

ANYWAY. To anyone who has already played or been playing Bioshock Infinite, is it good?

I love the old trade partners thing with Columbus, Mason to Flyers. And Adam Hall is up there for rolling stones with Zach Boychuk.

I crossed paths with an old teacher of mine today. One of the things he told me was "Dude, I'm still reading that [Marvel's] Civil War comics you gave me".
I gave 'em to him back in 2008 or something.

What the fuck, Pittsburgh, this is getting ridiculous.
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."

Ray Shero is as a GM to what his dad was as coach, now I'm sure at some point it will crash down around him, too many guys hitting UFA at once, goal tending collapsing, catastrophic failures of Crosby's head and Geno's knee.

Hopefully, because they have Jussi Jokinen now, who has been a bit of a hidden gem in Carolina. Their depth at left wing is ridiculous now.

Yeah but they're still short on right and this years playoffs will be a crapshoot and in the short term the Penguins will be good but after this offseason and the cap coming down it's a new game.

Huh, so Disney closed down LucasArts and cancels all Star Wars games currently in production.

Kind of a shame, I liked the look of 1313

Disney does what they want.

Maybe this way Telltale Games can get the rights to the Lucasarts' part of the Sam & Max franchise.

It's good.

Also, the people who don't make those promises are the ones who don't get elected. Government isn't a dictatorship. You have hundreds of people with competing interests. I'm sure Obama would love to do tons of things but the House is still Republican which means he can't do most of what he wants, at least certainly not in the way he promised.
