HOWDY HOWDY I've been rather desperate to find another forum to be active on lately due to the slow and agonizing death of the only one I've been active on for three years. I've been reading the comics on the site for a while, and recently started catching up and figured I may as well come on down here while I was at it.
So, I guess I ought to at least attempt to describe myself. I'm Taboo, often called Tab, Taboob, Tabooby, and other such affectionately derogatory variations. I'm a solid 16 years old, though I'm apparently more intelligent than the average kid, which has allowed me to maintain an existence on the internet for six years without any conflict or anything. In my years, I've garnered a number of personal achievements that I'll shamelessly list here for a mix of bragging reasons and because they probably do a pretty good job of expressing myself inherently.
- -Written a series of three novels that totals to, assuming my ability to do math is at all reliable (Heads up: it's not), approximately thirteen hundred pages. Said novels are in a large pile of notebooks under my bed, waiting as back up plans in case I ever desperately need money (COLLEGE).
-In addition to those novels, I've established a large universe around them through countless short stories of varying genres, lengths, and states-of-being-finished.
-Set up a blog with my on-off girlfriend/writing partner/dirty dancer Shampooh, which can be found right here. The blog, while allegedly a "gaming blog," has a lot of really random stuff on it, including some of my writing. In fact, the first chapter of my second novel is available there, in case you're interested. [/subtleashell]
-Evolved a reasonably unique yet incredibly obviously anime based art style in addition to a number of relatively minor art styles, having become a reasonably capable artist in pretty much every type. I'm a photographer, painter, sketcher, 3d modeler, architect, and sometimes evil mastermind. I also know three styles of swordplay (and kendo, which I don't really count as a style but a sport in its own right), because if I'm going to brag about my art, I'm going to brag about all my art.
-Learned C++, C#, Perl, Python, Ruby, Java, gotten a rudimentary knowledge of Assembler, and, for some reason, I also learned Visual Basic. Visual Basic 6, that is, ahahahahaha
-Become quite possibly the ultimate weeaboo, managing to be a gigantic fag about it all without being overly obnoxious about it. Hell, anime is what got me on the internet in the first place.
-Played way too many games throughout my life of all kinds. At this point, I'd have to say my favorite genres are shooters, fighting games, and hack and slash games. In particular, my favorite games are S4 League (which is what the stat thing in my signature is for [oh, by the way, if my signature is still too big, please let me know right away, i'm not totally certain]), Monster Hunter, and the BlazBlue series.
I'm hoping I'll be able to intergrate with this community reasonably well.
And, uh, yeah. Hi.
Oh, also, a bit of an aside, but, uh...
I found this INCREDIBLY MINDBOGGLING for some reason. Logic abilities are not my forte...
