New PPG tv special in the works

(Apologies in advance if this has been posted already)
Yadda yadda yadda terrible re-designs yadda yadda yadda childhood ruined yadda yadda, etc. Usual routine.
CN hasn't had a really big animated hit SINCE the original PPG (why else do you think they run Johnny Test 50 times a week?), so of course they reboot their one major hit. I sense a network in dire need of creative direction.

Kinda reminds me of Blues Clues, combined with Atomic Betty.

Oh for fuck's sake... well, this looks like it's in early sketches so probably this is only a snippet of what we'll really see. I do hope they don't ruin the series.
As I saw the creature, I was as white as an egg. I was so scared I might crack from fear. As the humanoid began to lunge after me, I was walking on egg shells from how scared I was. It grabbed me, took me to its station, and cracked me open. The last thing I saw were my yellow insides cooked on a pan. Human nature is as evil as a rotten egg.

This looks like shit. I thought if they were going to do a reboot, the girls would look more human-like, and less like there original appearance.

What would be even more interesting is if they made a PPG show with the girls grown up. A good idea maybe? I mean, it'd be pretty cool so seen the crime fighters grown up. Not high-school grown up, but middle school grown up.

That would be cool. If that where so, I imagine it would look a lot like Teen Titans, Animation wise.

Classic bobsagat, pop inside a thread to mock people's opinions while contributing virtually nothing to the conversation or explaining what the fuck he's going on about.

I'm with BobSagat, you guys suck.

Now about the topic, this design looks interesting to me. I don't think this will be the final design, but I hope it's something like this. I think the animation might end up looking like 'The Amazing World of Gumball', which I like very much. Also, there's just way too much of the preteen/teen action, anime like shows out there; including anime itself of course. That stuff is fun and all, but I sometimes want to see some simple, colorful, girl, ass kicking show; something that's been lacking lately. I don't think I'm the only one either, we all saw how successful that one pastel color pallet show became.

My only worry is that they'll dumb the show down and it'll become a self parody, referencing itself for laughs.

i think they did it wrong, you see a reboot (per tradition) is to be worse in every way to the original EXCEPT graphics... this is inarguably worse than the original, like by a lot.

Lets just pray the creators (the new ones) realize what they are ruining. Because they are really gonna need to remember what made the show so good when it started running.

Love how you assume they're going to ruin it before you know anything beyond the bare minimum about it.

I also love how we should "pray" that the new guys "realize what they're ruining", because god knows there aren't more important things to be worried about than a possibly mediocre special for a 15 year old cartoon.

And the line:
Spartan117 wrote:Why doesn't anything listen to the fans anymore?

Afterall, we all know cartoon fandoms are filled with such rational and mature people, who are never petty and none of them are ever unsatisfiable.

Anyhow I'll watch it for old times sake, not too fond of CG in tv cartoons, but Green Lantern TAS has won me over, so maybe this'll too. The premise sounds like an episode of PPG from season 5 onwards though, which was when the original show started to be pretty bad.

One does not simply turn a comic into a tv show.

yea but i think Bleedman's PPGD comic would do very well as a tv show with a bit of editing and such

Because he was here in 2004?
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."
