It has a touchscreen, yet again after nintendo presents something with that. At least nintendo kept the basic design of a kindle, ipad and such.
It's just gonna be an overpriced facebook machine for teenage girls. It even has a button that says "share" instead of "select".

And Senel? Several Wii games had something like that, every company is ruining young gamers in general.

Wait people still complain that developers are making systems to make games easier for some people that are completely optional?

I actually like most of what they did with the controller, I'm more apprehensive over the next generation move than I am the touch pad. I'm figuring most devs will use the touch pad as extra buttons more than using it as a replacement for the sticks.

This unveiling made me upset. Mainly because I don't want another new console right now. I wasn't able to watch all of the unveiling but I don't regret it. I found nothing worthy to note in it, except a Destiny trailer I found that was in the unveiling after the live stream was over.


I don't give a shit about every single one of these, especially the graphics.

i am simultaneously excited and nonplussed for the future of gaming, mostly because none of this seems particularly revolutionary. Then again, you could do a lot with ungodly amounts of RAM.

That's some grade A bullshit right there. Backwards compatibility has always been one of the PlayStation's strongest features. However the PS3 was a lot less compatible than it Predecessor, and it's compatibility only diminished as the years went on. I don't know about the whole "no more used games" rumor, but I think that's been proven false.



I'm with you on that, hell, I still have my PS2 as well as my PS3. Unfortunately, I fear it won't be long until they start releasing games like Kingdom Hearts III, Fallout 4, Persona 5, and other really cool shit for it, and stop making games for the PS3 all together.



For real. I mean, is a steady release of good games, and simpler technology, too much to ask for?

Obviously every game will be always-online, there won't be a need for such a buttin.

Well, regarding the "share" and "options" buttons, Playstation said the other buttons, such as start or select, will be touch-tone buttons. That's why theirs a touch pad on the middle of the controller. But c'mon, it's not like original controller design was getting "old for thi generation". I mean sure it had the same design the Playstation, but it was cool! They just changed it too much...

The options button is the combined start and select, is it really that hard to figure out? I don't really expect revolution out of this gen, I expected evolution visually we will never see the jump like we did from 16 bit to 3d or even PS1 to PS2, I'm really hoping this upcoming gen we see more advanced AI, visually we will have better particle, fabric and lighting systems.

There a lot to be said about "fixing something that isn't broken". The touch pad might be useful somehow, but I can't really come up with anything at the moment. By the way, are they going to do the whole, motion control/Playstation Move, thing for this new system?

The biggest concern I have, is the potential lack of game releases. I wish we could go back to the old day like with the PS2, where games were abundant.

But the PS2 had a miserable launch lineup.
