I think it's supposed to be more of a market than a capability breakthrough. Economics and such. Remember that Moore's law isn't actually about the highest number of transistors that lab dudes can put on a chip, it's about the number of transistors per chip at the best economy.

Yeah I liked Irredeemable/Incorruptible, Waid got pretty twisted in it.

Irredeemable gets a bit weaker towards the end, I thought. ENDING SPOILERZ    And the ending is a bit Morrisonesque, our world influenced by the "fictional"world,    guess that's why Morrison liked it so and wrote the foreword.
