Why is it so hard to make a good game based of off an established franchise?
I mean really it isn't impossible just look at Batman Arkham games or X-men Origins Wolverine.

I want to say the idea of the franchise, and the companies that take it on that causes it to fail. Like AVP was a decent representation of the concept and Concrete Jungle just had poor execution of the idea.

The third and fourth Alien movies are examples of the ideas of the franchise being warped because they don't have anywhere else to go.

If I recall, wasn't Concrete Jungle just mindless killing? Even for a Predator? I didn't play the game much, but I do remember it wasn't a great game and I didn't enjoy it much.

The way you put it though, it sounds like Aliens is headed in the same direction that Devil May Cry was going before the reboot.

I didn't play it either, but I did have a cousin who had it and thought it was meh. The killing was fun for a bit then it just got old.

@QU: They're even dressed to get their asses kicked. It does stay somewhat true to the movie, but I only watched it to about six minutes.

Oh god do you have a wild ride. The MGS story line is soooooooooooooooooo all over the place. Not saying it's bad, hell I think it's one of the best stories in video games and the fact that Metal Gear Solid 3 is my all time favourite game, but the story is just.... how should I put this.

Ok Metal Gear Solid did with it's story in 4 instalments what Marval and DC manage to do with an entire universe of continuity and that's before spin offs.

It's just very in depth, lots of details to take in and lots of twists and turns. It's a very detailed, well thought out and interesting story. Sadly, most of the games are on the PlayStation platforms which I do not own. I have a PS2, so I don't have many options.

I'd recommend watching a YouTube walkthrough of Metal Gear Solid minus the commentary. That way you can at least experience the game in a sense, as well as get the story in a much more interesting way.

But thanks to the HD collection MGS 2, 3 and Piece Walker are available on both PS3 and Xbox.
There was a rumour that the 25th anniversary edition of 4 would come to Xbox but Kojima himself defused it. But I have all consoles anyway so I'm good.

That trailer just made me drool all over myself... It looks like if Metal Gear was given the Devil May Cry touch-up. It's really too damn pretty. Glad I'm able to play it on the 360 now.

Yup. I enjoy doodling. I haven't done it for months now though. Partically for laziness and the other part for being swamped by school work. BUT I will get back to it eventually. I've got three different ideas for Candy. I'll hopefully have some time this weekend to sharpen my skills again and do some rough drafts.
