Just make your own alcohol, it's really not that hard.

But if he's only going drink a case or two of beer then it's cheaper to just buy it, especially because no one makes a good first batch.

No need for name calling. I never said it'd taste like the divine tears of god now did I. Legal, yes but only if you're under aged, or if you plan on selling it. It can only make you go blind if it at an ungodly high percentage, so you have to know what you're doing.

Distilling your own liquor is illegal, you can't do it unless you are licensed and bonded, it has nothing to do with drinking age. Secondly, it's not just high proof that can blind you but using the wrong materials. Finally if you talk out your ass, you better get used to being called on it and being called a jackass.
