today i am checking up how much space in my hard drive i'm wasting on crap that only i find funny or interesting so that i know what to delete or what to ignore until i dont have anymore space for the important bits and stuffs

okay so let me see

• 4chan macros/reaction faces/assorted life hacks/bullshit folder = 254MB
• wallpapers that i'll never use folder = 65MB
• comics i already read = 80MB
• installers of pirated software that i havent burned to cds yet = 301MB
• entirety of pirated games folder & emulators+roms = 42.2GB (ohshit)
• flash movies from /f/ and other places = 697MB
• ares music folder = 1.19GB
• music folder = 2.44GB
• porn = 9.76GB

Total: 56.89GB of wasted space.
and that's not counting the steam folder
with steam it would add an additional +41.6GB of waste so that means in total i'm wasting 98.4GB holy shit that feels baddddd

by todays standadrdsdsdsdrsds thats very little waste
but shit

those 56gb sure would feel a lot better if they were clear and shini.
if only i hadnt downloaded the entire super nintendo games library i wouldnt have that much wasted space purely on roms that i wont ever play because theyre in japanese and one game is repeated like 57 times for every different fucking rom version there is

how the fuck am i going to save all of that i dont want to erase all these roms!
i'm going to have to buy a gazillion cds and even then i'll have to learn how to burn one large file into various cd's without splitting it up aaaaa

Also, get a cheap external hard drive. Move stuff there that you want to keep but don't need immediately on hand. Depending on the size and your inclination, it can also hold a general backup of your computer, which may be a good idea anyway.

i know about those, but i wanted to kinda archive the software on a non rewritable medium such as CDs instead of a hard drive.

Storing it on what is basically a very powerful usb memory seems like a waste, considering most of these files won't be reopened for a long time. Still, it is an option thanks. :D

The problem is, if you store them on CDs chances are you will forget about them and never use them again.

I still have 71GB of free space, thankfully. I just need to trim the 185GB folder of movies if I need more.

Also:

Unless you found and like some rare kinds that may be difficult to find again, or have some unusual fetish, you can generally just use the internet.
