You're over stereotyping Platinum. But I do agree that Platinum will change the art design and mechanics to the point that, it would probably be Darksiders more in name than anything else.

I was intentionally over stereotyping it to make that point.

I'm never sure anymore.

I want to know where the hell did Sega get the money to buy anything?

Platinum Games, not Sega. I don't think they'll change a lot of it, it's not like Vanquish and Bayonetta are similar

But just because those games aren't similar doesn't mean that a Darksiders by them would be similar to the first two. The Sega crack is about them outbidding Bethesda for Relic. I'm sure in the next few days we'll here that someone bought up Darksiders and Vigil it just becomes a question if they shutter Vigil.

Yeah, it's not unlikely they'd buy the development team (Vigil) as well as the license, as was the case with some of the other sales. Remember, THQ is just a publisher, and what they're selling off is the development houses they've funded, in addition to the IPs. I think the main reason none of the other companies were willing to buy Darksiders was that Darksider II have little earning potential left, and a third one was probably not even in development yet. As such, all they'd get for their money was the privilege of funding Vigil making it.

I think you're also boxing platinum games in a bit too much. A lot of developers are fully capable of making a diverse range of games. A lot sticks with the same genres so they can build on past experiences, but getting that experience can be as simple as hiring a new lead developer.

Why did people even like the repetitive muddy thing that was darksiders. Other than the spectacle the game felt pretty shoddy

Sadness.

I'm curious as to what will happen for Homefront and Saint's Row though.

Saint's Row and it's developer were bought by Koch/Deep Silver, Deep Silver is just a publisher so it should be fine. Homefront was sold to Crytek the company making the sequel.

It's like Zelda but with gritty fantasy feel.

Platinum Games is actually interested in buying the Darksiders Franchise and hiring some of the old Vigil Employees who'd have thought? I hope they buy Vigil as a whole

I'll never forget how much fun I had with WWF No Mercy, and Smackdown vs Raw 2007.

As long as I get to keep my Dawn of War games, I'm a happy camper

A new Homeworld would also be fantastic

Homeworld will be sold off at a later date, I'm guessing the best places it could land would be Sega for Relic and then maybe 2K.

Kind of disappointed, but I'll live. Aside from the Tak series and Saints Row: The Third, I didn't like or play any of their other games. But I was sort of looking forward to that new south Park title. Hope it doesn't get cancelled.

Relic could have gone to Bethesda but Sega got them?

Ugh, not sure if want.
I'm actually not sure, how is Sega these days again?

Even the story mode I'm playing in co-op. I love using Avitus and Tarkus.

I've played Last Stand, don't think I ever won it though.

Mostly on DoW1 expansions now, finally got them cheap enough during the Christmas sales. Dark Crusade and Soulstorm are pretty great.

No longer have the game installed on my PC

Cyrus was one of my favorites, give him a good rifle and he'll one shot everything. And with a certain upgrade, bombs he can throw only cost energy, instead of ammo. SATCHEL CHARGED EVERYWHERE!

My first THQ game was Destroy All Humans! and it was so cool. I also got the sequel, which was also awesome, and I still play it today. Sad to see them go...
