the trick is in the translucent quality of the glasses: mirror reflections at certain angles on the outside surface cup, and the precision with which he scoops a ball back from the mirrors before the trick is revealed. The ball appeared to disappear because he, in moving his other glasses, faintly turned the cup, removing the ball from view, presenting the mirror outward, as if the ball had never been there.
