Dan Slott is a fantastic writer who's been leading Spider-man for the past few years now, and all his stories have been met with high praise, and only now they decided to call him a hack? Wishy washy fans in m opinion.

My problem with this whole ordeal will be that in a year everything will be undone. At this point everything comics do comes across as an attention grab, people bored with Captain America, kill him, people bored with Bucky as Cap, bring Cap back from the dead. Comic writers are first and foremost fans and that creates a problem. When they come in with so much reverence they are afraid of breaking the toys in the box, so when they put them back where they found them.

I trust Slott to treat this new status quo as something temporary, and have it affect Peter Parker for when he comes back instead of him returning and go "Hey guys remember when Doc Ock took over my life for a year? Crazy times". I'm pretty sure Slott is good enough of a writer to think of what is gonna happen after it's over.

Oh, here's something I just found out. Jamie Foxx to play Electro on the next Spidey movie.
Before we know it, they'll find a way to turn Electro into a black dude in the comics too.

But that depends on whether or not Slott will still be on the title by the time Peter is supposed to come back. If another writer comes on before that point Slott's storylines can be shuffled off for whatever the new writer wants and how he wants to return to status quo as long as it doesn't involve Peter and MJ being married again.
