Ones that have interesting character interactions, the setting doesn't matter to me as long as it is open for characters to develop in game.

Bob's Enuma Elish RPs, and Imenak's X-Instituite were good examples. A little bit of action with a whole lot of dramas.

I agree with BG. Ones with plenty of room for development and plot points that aren't gimmicky are usually the most fun. Action doesn't tend to do too well unless there's some collaboration involved, though. It slows down the pace of the RP usually, since the fight is maybe ten minutes, but the exchange of posts could take a month or so at best.

This is pretty interesting.

I like 'good' RPs. Setting and style doesn't matter so much as how much thought has been put into it and how well it's executed. I like ones where the author knows what sort of experience he/she is after and seeks to foster that.

What does this mean specifically? Planning of actions via PMs or characters fighting together against a common foe or?

As for collaboration, either of those examples work for what I meant. Also, collaborating can also mean exchanging IMs as well as PMs, which speeds up the process further.

Okay, I'm actually thinking about setting up a Song of Ice and Fire aka Game of Thrones, role play. But I wanna make sure people are interested. It'd basically be what's going on in the story. We can start at the first book/season and go from there. But everyone would be their own character. (Believe me, there's room for it) I'm definitely going to need someone else to help me out here, because I'm going to be starting a job soon, so my hours here will vary.

Basically, it'd be everyone supporting a main factor in the story. Example: You could be a soldier of the Lannister. You could be a white walker. Basically, anything that isn't a main character. And just because you are a member of a "losing House", does not guarantee you dying. I plan to make this as fair and fun as possible, and I'm currently working on the story and such. Yes, it involves the canon stuff going on right now, but we're definitely entitled to our own little story. But I'm curious to see if anyone is interested, before I go further.

Well if players aren't allowed to be from significant houses in the story then that would limit any sort of political pull they could possibly have
