The mayans simply ran out of stone.
You see it was not quite easy to bring your Mayan notebook everywhere with you as it was made of solid stone and it was taller and thicker than you and weighed a ton, so when whoever was doodling on his stone ran out of space, they just went fuck it and left it there.

I feel this song is good for the moment. (despite posting this 2 minutes late)

Edit: also, here's a documentary that's pretty odd... but it's an interesting bit of hypothesized human history I've never heard of. Hidden Human History Movie. It also tells of why the Mayan calendar tells of what would supposedly be an apocalypse. If you don't want to watch it all, it says today is supposed to be the day of some equinox where the poles shift full throttle and everyone forgets everything because we can't protect ourselves from the fluctuation of the magnetic fields that mess with us, like they do with plenty of other animals. Just food for thought.

The density of misinformation and mythological grab-bagging there is impressive. I could write a lot about the pyramid example at the beginning (and most other 30-second chunks picked at random). But then, the video was posted by a "nwosatire" and that may have been intentional.
