I haven't played it yet, I'll probably pick it up in the next few months since it's hitting the bargain bin. If 2k had invested the money it used to force mp into the game instead into making the sp better or marketing, maybe this discussion wouldn't be happening. Unfortunately April-July is the dead zone for gaming and Take2 didn't get a buzz going for Spec Ops or Max Payne 3 like they have in the past for other dead zone releases.

Cool, you seem like the type to appreciate a good story with philosophical undertones and a bounty of symbolism.

It's a bit sad, they kinda tried to advertise it, but right when it was about to be released. It didn't allow the game to pick up enough momentum in order to sell well.

Yeah, but they had no word of mouth, the whole reason anyone I know bought Red Dead Redemption was all the people going holy shit this is good. I bought it off the recommendation of a friend and in turn most of my friends bought it off of my praise. Spec Ops didn't have that and that's why I didn't buy it at launch. Also people in general aren't buying at launch because they are tired of getting bitten when a month later it's cheaper or 9 months later there is a GotY version.

Like most bethesda games.

I understand the waiting until a month later, but I couldn't last 9 months.

If anything, I prefer buying them at launch for the companies/studios I support.

I'm just tired of getting bitten by the fact that I try to be a good gamer and buy it at release but then I get no rewards for doing so. I rather be a bad gamer at this point and get my money's worth.

Yeah, I agree with that as well.

I feel it's bullshit that they expect bonuses only with pre orders, when many games are bought pre owned.

If they want people to buy at launch, they need an incentive. And not some bullshit incentive where it's available early, and than released as DLC later.

I know there are a few games out there that do give something for those that buy during the first wave they send out, like collectibles or codes inside the game box. If they did that more, yeah, there would plenty more incentive.

Their games would be awesome if they weren't littered with bad bugs.

I'm convinced someone at Black Isle cursed the fallout series to forever be buggy. Still, after observing both the writting in NV and the graphics in Skyrim I have high hopes for the series in the future.

I remember you guys saying Skyrim was the best thing ever. And I said it wasn't.
Feels good to be right.

I haven't had problems with it.

I never said it was the best game ever though.

I'm pointing at several people here.
Only problem I had with it was sometimes my computer had trouble handling it. But there's a mod to fix that now and I don't really feel like playing the game again.

Wii U would be the start of a new generation, despite the claims of many stupid people

I'm waiting to see how it benchmarks against the other next gens. It could be stuck in an out of phase system like the Dreamcast or Wii.

The PS2 was barely above the Dreamcast and it did fine.

Sony would be an idiot to release a massive powerhouse of a console while their company is dying. Microsoft will probably do less of an upgrade but focus more on Kinect 2.0
