Tell me there is something out there better than Windows Movie Maker for free.
Yes I have googled it but I did not really come up with good answers. I may even be willing to work with a trial of a good program if it is good enough to purchase and isn't ridiculously priced.

Well how do you feel about keycracking? I use the Sony Vegas video editor, iirc since it's been a while, I downloaded the trial from their site then unlocked it with some tutorial on YouTube.

I don't mind keycracking. I will check out sony vegas. I like Vegas NV. I used to like Sony.

I'm not really familiar with anything else (for Windows), but Sony Vegas has generally always met my needs pretty well, so it should do you fine.

I have mostly come to the conclusion that my problem does not so much lie with Windows Movie Maker as with something else in the computer. Vegas refuses to load files. I am lazy. Seems a lot better though.
