Back on topic, is there anyone here who's a bike enthusiast?

I want to know if there's anything special I should have in mind when choosing.

Sorry, not big on bikes. I also live on the east coast, which is just about as opposite as you can get from ANYONE on Snafu. Not that they would enjoy my company anyway.

Also, you were talking about hitting up Philadelphia, New Jersey... you know that's on the East coast, right? Thousands of miles away from your original path to Panama.

As the people in the thread have said, if you cut through into Central Canada you can meet up with a couple of people from snafu, and Mir@k near the east coast of Latin America, apparently near(ish) Panama.

But heading to New Jersey would detour you thousands of miles away from your original destination.

Not very efficient in my eyes... :|

But hey, if you want to forgo the trip to Panama and make it a cross coast, cross country adventure, then by all means pinball across the entire western hemisphere.

Central Canada in terms of Snafu members is just Warbear.
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."

Actually, I'm not looking for the most efficient route to Panama.

I just want to see the Americas. Firsthand.

Doesn"t have to be quick.

Real close yog, in fact, i can even see it from my roof.

An interesting transcript from an article on the psyche of potential mentally unstable individuals wrote:Some people experience a special kind of mental illness in which main symptom is a high-class tendency to adquire attention. In their eagerness to make themselves useful to others, to have something to say and/or to appear, in the eyes of others, as trustworthy and reliable people (either for the sake of obtaining attention or influence for a position of power), they might end up doing more harm that good. For those people there are many counseling and psychiatric services available everywhere worldwide. Call your local help line, tomorrow it could be you.

I think that's his way of saying he actually really wants you to visit him. It's cute, really.

@Bird: No, that's my way of saying you're leeroy jenkins your way into people's threads again. Shut up if you don't even know basic geography or you might be giving yog ill-investigated information. We don't want him getting lost.

Hey, I'm actually on Google Earth Myself. Everything I've said has been with a digital atlas aide! Can't get any more accurate than what I already said.

If I got something wrong I apologize, what geographic detail did I miss?

Yes, I know... as I said I have a giant digital atlas helping me. It's south/southeast of Costa Rica and west of South America. Along the eastern coast is where Mir@k is as well as the Canal. To my knowledge I have already said that multiple times. Did I say it was on the western coast or something? Might have to edit it if I did.

The fact that you're giving me links to things to help me, I.e. Actually going out of your way to search for the stuff, is pretty kind of you, Mir.

I appreciate all of your help, guys.

I'm not buying anything for you, i don't see how i am helping but okay. I just hope this goes from just being theoretical planning to actual traveling because i'll be fucked if everyone's making projects that we all know they'll never be lifted off the ground.

To be honest yog i don't think you should plan on going to south america yet. I'd be more happy for you if you first got to see your own country before attempting something more large-scale. I don't even quite remember if you know spanish or not.

Of course I know spanish.

Anyway, like I said, me going this year is still up in the air, due to money.

Next year at least, is for sure.
