Paint your traveling fantasies for all to see.

This June, I'm planning on biking from Alaska to Panama.

So. I'm looking for some tips on places I should visit along the way.

Any suggestions?

California for their all tolerance weed, maybe hit up Mexico for their all tolerance weed, and before you head on your journey be sure to pack up some good weed.

To my knowledge such a route wouldn't be too eventful. You are mainly heading down the stoner coast and into freaking Mexico, right?

Ah, dude. I don't need suggestions on weed territory, trust me.

I'm planning on stopping in El Salvador and packing up some from my uncle's marijuana FOREST.

Down there, he grows coffee, but only recently has he told me about this.

I'll probably stay away from LA.

It's sort of like the epitome of all that I have deep fears of.

i was in LA as a kid. we drove past Mann's Chinese Theater and then like 20 seconds later we were in the ghetto.

they must tape all that off when the cameras are by the theater, because it seemed like it was literally next to it.

Haha.

Sounds fun.

Have you ever do some traveling, Grey? I mean, like taking a year of to go and screw around across the world.

Well my route is essentially going to be:

1. From the west coast of Alaska, I will be heading along the middle til the end of the state.

2. From there, I'll head to the center of Canada, then south, where I should enter Montana.

3. From there, I'll take a zig-zag route, from Montana to Illinois, than from Illinois to Utah, than from Utah to Texas.

4. From Texas, I'll get into Mexico, and it's just pretty much straightforward to get to Panama.

That's about it. Very broad, but I think it's sufficiently challenging.

If I start in June, like I said, I should end in August. Or September.

If you follow the eastern coast down to panama then chances are you're going to have to cross through veracruz. I'm around there.

Based on that route I'd spend some in Chicago and Austin, Texas.

Sweet.

Yeah, I saw those too. Remember, though, I'll also be in the states in between my destinations, so I plan to cut a swathe across the US so I can see as much as I can.

Besides Mirak, anyone else live around there?

Hrm. Hopefully they'll have me.

I'd like to see a lot of Canada, though, so I'll probably do the swath thing there, too.

There's a possibility that I might not be able to do this until next year, due to me not being extremely wealthy.

But I want to continue planning as if I am going to do it this year. That way, I know exactly what to do when the time comes.

So, what else could I see...

Maybe if I broaden my path, I could check out Philly.

Maybe I don't want to go to LA, but that doesn't necessarily mean that I can't visit California.

I need to get a good backpack. Something compartmentalized so I could actually organize my shit. Bike, I'll probably need to buy it in Alaska. Might be difficult. Must research later. Also need to learn some techniques when it comes to hiding shit. Don't want my passport stolen.

Hrm. I guess there's more, but I'll plan it later. Are there any other members that live in/near the center of the US? At least, of the ones that I know.

Oooh, I could visit New Jersey.

You want like a good camping bag and for your ID and money invest in a moneybelt.

Alright, thanks. I'm probably going to take a sleeping bag along, but there's a chance I might just find some motels to sleep in when I have the time.

Hey wait. Don't you live in Philly?

Maybe I could come and visit you in your cave.

Look up motels and hostels along your route.

Oh, I have been.

I'm debating with myself whether or not I'm going to cross the Darien Gap and go all the way to the bottom of South America.

Seems like it would be cool.

But there's a possibility that I'll get into some trouble in that place.

Decisions, decisions.

Sounds crazy, very, very crazy, but what about doing all of this...

On horseback?

Hell, it would be a first, but I need to examine the laws around it.

Getting a horse would be easy, I have family in Central America who breed horses.

Hrm.

Might be crazy, but hey, it would definitely be fun.

And this is where commendable plans end and we enter into batshit territory. Oh well, it was nice taking this thread seriously for a while.

Ok, ok.

It is a serious plan, but the horse thing was more a what if thing.
