I really loved it,    I got hit with a wave of hopelessness in the game that I haven't had since the death of John Marsten in Red Dead.

Basically, from what I can gather from the Let's Plays I've seen of Journey, the game is meant to be more of an experience sort of thing--kinda like a "it's about the journey, not the destination" sort of thing.

The mechanic of meeting anonymous players who you can journey with and help each other out is a pretty interesting (and cute) aspect of it, too.

I could only watch a playthrough of Journey, seeing as how I dont own a PS3... But from what I've seen (thank god the guy playing it was at least good at it), it looked really good. I especially liked the ending, on the snowy mountain.

Not quite sure if I understood the story though, it was a little confusing.

The best part of the game, for me at least, is still the soundtrack. Austin Wintory is a genius.

There's not much of story it's mostly inferred. I actually wish it ended    with the playable characters death instead of the rebirth thing   , but that just might be my inner masochist talking.

I understood the story that made the world what it is now, I just don't see what the player's role in it was. As far as I know, nothing changed.

The player had no role, I believe the intent of the player character was to escape that barren world. Which leads to a lot of interpretation for the player to make about certain things.
