Yamamoto, being ironic going "you speak too much", which is what he's been doing for four issues already, defeated a fake juha bach, who was a total and complete pussy despite his implied superpowers when dismembering those arrancar dudes with his mind.

I just hope the "real" juha bach doesn't curb stomp yamamoto just so that ichigo has to deal with that shit, it would be better if yamamoto just pulled an "i'm tired, you do it" instead. I mean with this being the last arc, i'm wondering if we're ever even gonna see 100% hollow ichigo again.

I'm sure it was just translated incorrectly. As far as bleach goes, I agree with Mir@k, it's just the same thing every fight.

It's pretty much obvious that the fake was there to draw the powers of the bankai, so the real one would just come in and steal the bankai, leaving the old man helpless and making ichigo fight even harder when he has to come in and take on the stolen bankai of the most powerful shinigami.

I've been keeping up with the mangoo pretty sporadically since mangastream closed and I couldn't find a place with decent translations and a feed, so I just caught up with Naruto, reading some 20 chapters in a row. Coupled with the right music, it felt kinda... Epic. A break might have been good to break up the boring routine.

yeah, I won't lie, the fan service has been getting more and more ridiculous but I still think it's one of the best fighting mangas out there that doesn't rely too much on super powers (or clothes for that matter)

As for the Bleach chapter, is Yamamoto just stupid? Even if it was true that the Vandereich can only steal bankai if they knew about their powers, his bankai would get stolen anyway. The second in command was there the whole time, and he already saw all the abilities of Zanka no Tachi.

Can't blame him.
Shounen side-characters are all either idiots or incompetent.

I never said there weren't any super powers in the series, I simply mentioned that the series doesn't rely on them too much. Also, the only characters to have such abilities are the master class fighters an even then it's used as a way to show the large gap between master and student class. As far as the bullet thing goes, I think there is only one character that has ever done anything of the sort (and even then I think it was with a sword, but I could be wrong) because the series has established that they're vulnerable to bullets and sharp objects as a few characters have been shot and stabbed and at least one was shot to death.

I don't know about the racist thing, You'll have to be more specific on that.

And yeah, the fan service is what I believe keeps the series from being among the more popular shonen mangas out there. No manga series is without it's flaws and I stick by what I said as far it being one of the best battle mangas out there, and if you can't look past the fan service too enjoy it, then to each his own I guess.

One could also argue that regularly depicting females in such a manner is sexist, making it two kinds of ist.

Yeah, I understood that part, What I meant is that it's a shame the series is popular for it's fan service as oppose to it's actual fights.

There are plenty of decent fighting manga, Kenichi is just completely terrible. The only arc that carried it was the original one where Kenichi is a bullied kid who rises up, after that the manga lost all sense of reality when it brought out this Yomi/Yami bullshit.

If you want mostly believable non magical fist fights go read Ippo, if you want mostly believable non magical sword fights go read Vagabond.

Ippo is fun, I own the first few dvd's of the anime. Never heard of the other one but I'll check it out.

Vagabond has one of the best artists working on it ever. His lines are like finger porn and all his characters are so uniquely drawn. It doesn't fuddle around with techniques in fights but rather the implications of the fights.
