So much angst.

From observations so far, the point of this forum is for it to serve as a hub of mediation where everyone may share their opinions and suggestions for this site, provided they are as respectful to others as they would to themselves about it, which may eventually help with progressing towards a win-win solution for all involved, or at least a distributive one. However, many things can easily hinder this and usually foul up communications in between the parties, leading to misunderstandings, and eventually the breaking down of all restraints and logic, where emotion eventually takes over.

Notice how everyone is constantly inserting vague references which could easily be vaguely interpreted wrongly by another user? That's a hindrance in communications. Also notice how everyone is doing this, and everyone is having trouble coming to terms with each other in the process.

The arguments here are getting so out of hand that the place is decaying in terms of attractiveness to those who actually have a word to contribute or say. In the process of refuting each other, all that's happened is that this thread has been turned into another representation of the reason of why every single person on this site is being convinced to perceive anything intentionally beneficial as a waste of time.

hell, we might as well rename this to the 'angry people debating about stuff' thread now.

Take a chill pill and do what you're meant to do, discuss. Preferably without strangling each other with tl;dr posts like this one, leading to more sleep-deprived people making more of these in response.

On another note, a reorganization of the Art, Role-Playing, and Literature seems to be something of interest. Assuming there has been no set place here for the discussion of Art and Literature, since it seems the forums dedicated to them are more likely for storage of works instead of talking about them in terms of interest, it might be nice to put them all neatly into a place where people other than those who have writing expertise or drawing skills can go and say ''Wow, I have no idea how to do this. But I got some interesting news to share about it if you want."

Here's another change idea I'm thinking about: merging the literature and art forums. Simplest idea I think would be to make Literature a sub-forum. Less clutter on the main page.

Valhallen and Q.U. have been drafting very precise and clear remakes of the global rules. The original Global Rules threads will be changed into normal topics and moved into the Moderator Forum for the sake of having them archived.

In the new Global Rules will be a Site Map for new users to get to forums, that way Literature won't be lost in the wayside for those who still use it. :)

Can't you just like create a section and have both forum in that one? I think it will feel less confusing.

The last thing you would want is to stop newbies from finding it.
I think having the forums separate but still together like Hiryu's suggesting would work much better.

I already have a (Relatively) good thread in literature. I wouldn't like the forum to fade from existence, even if they get merged I want it to be blatantly obvious that text based 'art' is still one of the highlights if they get merged.

If that is handled well I'm all for the merger.

Well, the reason I was thinking about making it a subforum is I can selectively list subforums on the main page.

If you guys just wanted a complete merger, we'd have to label all the threads with some indicator as to them being drawn or written art. Not hard for making new threads, but tedious for the things we've already got in the forum.

See, the reason I named the forum "Bleed" before "(Comics and Animation)" was because a lot of newbies join because of Bleedman, so sticking his label before that idea gives focus to it, but then the subtitle of Comics and Animation would allow for discussing things in there as well.

If necessary, I could create specific sub-forums. Swap Bleed-forum into a sub-forum OF Comics and Animation, perhaps.

Funneling Bleed-fans into a single forum may sound like a good idea. However, in long-term, it could easily shift too much focus in there to the point that new members may never leave their starting grounds, or effectively leave the forums completely out of disinterest.

I'm all in for mergers with clear labels since they might help out, assuming no one gets lost on their first visit anyways. From there, chance to visit other topics and forums would be more likely.

Huh, that's pretty much what happened to my first year here. I kinda stayed there exclusively because nothing else really called to me. I eventually moved on to the Literature forum, had a couple posts in the Ever-After forum only to talk about bots, and just now recently dipped my feet into RP.

Other than for threads that are legitimate (Like this one) I never come to spam for any reason.

So from a personal standpoint what you are saying not only makes sense- it happened to me so it's not even a projection: It's a fact. Then again, I don't see why that would end up being a bad thing. The Bleed-forum (At least when I joined) was the second most popular branch of the forum and had a lot of shit to talk about.

There was no real NEED to branch out. After all, my Literature thread is based of Bleedman's exploits anyway. I still mainly come to this site for his shit and what other people say about his shit. The future of this site and its changes are basically the future of me being able to talk about shit that Bleedman does.

Damn when I really boil it down Bleedman and Bleedman related things and other things people say that relate to Bleedman in one way or another is pretty much everything I do here... well, except for the RP thread I'm starting.

Bleedman really is the life-blood of this site... none more so is that clear to me then now.

I mean, it was for me. And he just predicted it would be for other people as well.

The numbers just add up and I've done it myself. I believe Bee-Are and other vets have said numerous times that Bleedman is the sole contributor to new members. Like... literally ALMOST 100% of the newbies will be coming for him.

If we had some Fresh ContentTM it wouldn't be that way, but as everything stands now it is just about impossible to get fresh content. So until whenever that wont be anymore- Bleedman will be the saving grace once the flood gates are lifted again.

Out of the total of 14 artists are (or were) a part of team SNAFU, the only ones that are still active here are Bleedman, Skulboy666, Mosoma, and MantidMantisMichael (the guy behind League). I'm sure the majority of the snafuers (we're talking...80% of them) who still visit this site are here for Bleedman, while the rest of them follow Skull boy and Satan Feces.
