You guys should enable a custom CAPTCHA question. Change it once a week or twice a week, just so the botters can't adjust their settings to answer your question. If users can't answer the question (which would be sad), then at least they had the opportunity to join, as opposed to not being able to join at all.

I just realized that this is in fact not a native part of phpBB 2. There are some "enhancement" options you can use to make the CAPTCHA more difficult to read. Are their "Anti Spam" settings in your Admin Control Panel?

There something I feel like I need to say here: this thread is going around in a circle, having Spam as the most votes. Why try to have egg, bacon, spam, and sausage without the spam in it when the polls has got a lot of spam in it? EUGH.

Ridicule me if you want, and seriously, If you still wanted more names and steer away from all this trouble, why not just call this fucking place "The Holy Grail" or fucking "Spamarama"? Oh, and Spamarama comes in a variety of flavors and can be sweet, bitter, sour, salty, etc. PANDEMONIOUS!

It's too bad you've already stopped coming up with names, and I'm just saying that the point is, this isn't going to make any sense even if we've got a name anyway because like the Scarlet Spider, there are some themes you can't really resist sticking to. Maybe "The Flying Circus" could have worked too.

I apologize for sounding mean here; I thought that having Spam as the most votes here might potentially be a big problem here If you're trying to make this forum more positive to non-spam and spam people alike, and I sincerely respect how much you guys care about the forums, and I have faith in your efforts, especially for this jolly place. It just doesn't make any sense if it's something you can't stay away from.

This poll is amazing it's like you guys didn't understand the point at all. Congratulations.

Snark aside: I genuinely think changing the name of the forum would be a low effort and easy change but go a long way to making this place more approachable. I'm not even telling you to change the style of your posting, but you have to admit that more often than not, people not familiar with the forum are going to avoid a section called "Spam".

The name isn't something you really have to stick up for.

I thought the forum name could even rotate on a regular basis. Spam is more lax than most other forums.
