The jail thing is some rumor that some random troll made up.

From what I read on the comments on his DA profile, Griddles is going through something that's very serious and personal. I can only assumed it's a family issue.

I'm doing well, way too much eating though. As far as what happened with Griddles, I've read the same as others have mentioned that he has some serious real life issues. In terms of the whole prison rumor, it would be lot longer if it were child porn.

Hope he's able to deal with whatever issues are plaguing him at the moment.

Unfortunately this isn't an update to the story. However, I messaged Griddles after noticing he had been on. He said he's doing fine though things are still rocky so he's unsure of when they will smooth out. He did note that he does still intend on finishing this story. I felt like sharing and hope you all are doing well.

Well that's good to know, the important thing is that he's doing alright.

There's very little left of the story to go, and I'm real upset that I cannot finish it at this time. But as it stands, we've got a string of both old and new characters still on the field.

Sora, a Zoner Cœli, at the heart of a churning spacial void threatening to swallow Townsville and keep expanding.

Blood, a psychic Superorganism, last seen trounced by Buttercup and buried under a falling tower.

Bubbles, trapped in the void with Sora, perhaps the only chance to save Townsville and beyond.

Buttercup, pulled into the void against her will by Sora. Always at odds with Sora, one wrong move could doom everyone.

Blossom, seriously wounded by Blood and being cared for by Tabitha Piper. Cannot further participate.

Wallace Davroe, head of military operations on behalf of Junior Citizen. Gruff, abrasive and disapproving of the PPG. Jackass.

Tabitha Piper, respected policewoman. Has a child who used to go to school with the PPG. Motherly instincts and a latent super-ability.

Ark Royal, real name unknown, English head of the Junior Citizen project. Appears to be on his way to relieve Davroe of command.



That's how it stands. Some possible points to ponder -

i) Was Sora right or wrong to abandon the life that had been given to her by the Junior Citizen program?
ii) Was Sora right or wrong to free her brother, even though it resulted in his death?
iii) What is Sora's future now that her life is crumbling around her?
iv) What role could Tobias Beck have played in Sora's life had he survived?
v) What's Sora's real name?
vi) What happens next for Blood?
vii) What should happen to Davroe and Ark Royal?


I look forward to moving on to new stuff when I can. I intend to follow up with future stories in the following order.

* A tale introducing Drax and Berserk, focusing on the Dex/Blossom pairing
* A tale introducing Behania and a super-assassin with a vendetta, known as The Rook
* The debut of Blaze
* A story featuring a mysterious power called the Nightwatch, who has a score to settle with the PPG.
* The return of TentoRaijin and the Cluster

In hindsight, both Blood and Sora seem a little bit psychologically....incomplete. Blood had a clear goal she wants to achieve, but her own arrogance and callousness gets in the way of that. She doesn't seem able to empathize with others, and since she can't or refuses to understand others, everybody goes out of their way to fight against her. But this is the story of how she grows into an actually capable leader, right?

Sora is a different case entirely. She can empathize with others, and generally gets along with people, but she doesn't have a goal in life. Even before her brother's death, she didn't exactly have a battle plan on what she was going to do with life, and joining Blood was more to save her brother than actually agreeing with her ideals. While Blood comes off as immature, Sora is more....animal.

The Junior Citizen Program may have kept her in ignorance and made her unable to properly function in society without some serious help from the PPG, but Tobias shows that she could have been happy. Whether happiness is more important than the truth or being more than a child is up to the individual. There's no point judging Sora's decision to escape because she didn't have enough information nor was she fit to make objective judgements. She just knew that she did not like the current situation, even if it could improve. So far, she had just lost the people she based her entire existence around, and is facing the consequences of doing such a thing to people who die before you do.

On Sora's brother's death, Blood makes a convincing point, but the fact that she made it after letting Sora kill him is a bit of a problem. It may have been "faster", but Blood was in no position to make a call like that. Had Sora calmed down and reached that conclusion herself, there wouldn't be much to discuss.

Eh, I suppose the derail thing wouldn't have worked out here, it seems to be a specialty at beasts lair though. Derails happen there with the same frequency of the common cold, so people don't really pay much attention unless it starts getting out of hand.

Now to re-read Talisman so that I can actually remember how things happened.
