Most of the time when I read about you guys's problems I feel like my life is pretty fantastic. But at other times, I envy you. I don't have to deal with social conflicts because I don't really have a social life.

Sure every few months a friend from far away will visit me for a few days, but that's it.

I sometimes feel like I'm not living life, that I'm just an observer trying to find meaning in mine and other's concepts and thoughts. As a result I'm a very self aware person, but that seems to make me feel more isolated than otherwise.

I had been lied to about too many details.

"There are a lot of people out there like you."

Pfft. Lies, the way my mind works, the way I feel. I know absolutely no one who is the same or even similiar to me.

But I'm all right with that, were you to somehow ask my friends about me they'd probably say he's a very unique person or that he's brainy, one of those two.

But I can't fit in with the majority not only because I am too different but because I don't want to.
Too many blind fools who fail to recognize genius or who just assume based on appearances.

A superiority complex can also keep people away, as well.

One as strong as your's can destroy a social life, and alienate people.

A true genius is one that comprehends the world around them and is in control of every aspect without need for manipulation, while pursuing further understanding.

You cannot designate yourself a genius, only strive to emulate one.

i.e.an individual with extraordinary insight in all aspects of their lives.

Intelligence is an often used word to describe genius, but the truth of the matter is, intelligence has many forms.

The sooner you come down your high horse and accept that you're a normal human, as special as any man or woman, the better.

It's why you find so much conflict, really.

Don't let me catch you calling yourself a genius again, or I'll drag you of your pedestal myself.

The world does not rely on you, so you cannot look down on the world and waggle your finger for not appreciating you.

Society will not change via your tastes, so the best thing to do would be to utilize one of our greatest strengths; adaptation.

Refusing to do so would just be making yourself look like the "fool".

Those that choose to revel in foolishness like that are truly deserving of pity.

Actually, I'm wrong.

The idea of a "genius" is one to be scoffed at, as there really is no concrete definition for such a thing.

The definition I gave is probably my own. My idea of the genius, I suppose.

His post reeked of utter bullshit. It had to be done.

Personally, I was inspired. Reminded me of a few things from years back. Good things, but made me disappointed in who I am now despite my ambitions.

@True Order: Sounds like an introvert to me. Whether that's a problem to be corrected is largely up to you.

Keep selection bias in mind. Introverts are less likely to make their thoughts known to others and less likely to pry into others' thoughts. Unless you have quantitative evidence that some basic aspect of your mind is at least three standard deviations from average, you probably already know people rather like you.

Standard deviation. It's a statistical measure, and would vary depending on what attribute you look at.

P.S. @True Order: If people with broader social experience than you tell you that there are others sufficiently like you to make that judgement, you probably shouldn't dismiss it out of hand.

I feel like I could count one, but it's not something to be said. It's an experience. To be something is worlds apart than just saying you are so. So, yeah, over the internet it's hard to express such a thing. At least what I consider inside myself to be a variation.
