I don't doubt that you'll call her eventually. If she'll own up to her mistakes, great. She was a good part of your life, but her own issues were always something people here saw as a problem that would come up (like it did).

You can't just do stuff and always hope it turns out for the best
sometimes things will turn out a little (or a lot) better with foresight.

Millions upon millions of times have people owned up to their mistakes to then go on to repeat them ad infinitum.

That won't help anything. Sometimes being polite is the worst thing to do.

If you were begging someone to take you back, would a gentle "I'm not interested" really stop you? Or would it just invigorate you knowing that this message means they still care and don't even hate me enough to be rude to me? Which means in their mind.. that there's still hope. So if I just try harder, if I just bother him more, then I know he'll come around, I just need to give him that push.
