:(

As much as I told myself I shouldn't post here, there's a situation.

At the advice of someone, I decided to use this.

Sarah called and left a message.

She said she missed me.

I'm conflicted. Extremely. This wasn't supposed to happen.

I thought about calling her back, but... Well, I don't know if I should.

Do whatever you want. It's your life, your decision, your mistakes. If she's willing to admit to her mistakes, great. But the second she pulls some crazy nympho move, run. Don't look back.

That is if you do call her back. I don't doubt that you will.

Block her number. You don't need that shit. She's going to just put you through crap again.

Then block her or turn your phone off

Or answer her and be like "B**ch I'm trying to sleep" and hang up.

No. Ignore her. Do NOT do ANYTHING other than that. In the extreme if she acts stalkerish, then tell her to FUCK OFF. No one in this life deserves your love right off the bat, it is something they much earn. She has not earned your love, not earned your respect. All she has earned is your pity, and that's all you shall give to her.

I don't doubt that you'll call her eventually. If she'll own up to her mistakes, great. She was a good part of your life, but her own issues were always something people here saw as a problem that would come up (like it did).

But it's your life, your choice, and your mistake if it turns into one. hopefully it turns out for the best.

It seems like you didn't like the fact you weren't directly responded to.

You can't just do stuff and always hope it turns out for the best
sometimes things will turn out a little (or a lot) better with foresight.

If she owns up to her mistakes that will mean nothing, she already blew her chance
Millions upon millions of times have people owned up to their mistakes to then go on to repeat them ad infinitum.

You can't just do things, knowing that they're a mistake, and hope for the best. That's like jumping from the Empire State Building and hoping you'll bounce.

Oh crap, I thought that first message didn't go through. Came back to the page and didn't see it.

I'm just going to shut up. I've made enough mistakes today.

Nicholas Alkemade fell 18,000 feet in 1944, landed in some snow covered bushes, got up, and took a smoke.

Fuck, I'm nervous.

She's called a third time, leaving a message pleading me to take her back. She sounds so sad.

I feel bad. At least should I try to be nice, and tell her gently that I'm not interested?

That won't help anything. Sometimes being polite is the worst thing to do.

If you were begging someone to take you back, would a gentle "I'm not interested" really stop you? Or would it just invigorate you knowing that this message means they still care and don't even hate me enough to be rude to me? Which means in their mind.. that there's still hope. So if I just try harder, if I just bother him more, then I know he'll come around, I just need to give him that push.

Don't entertain any thought of contacting her. Don't do it. She left you. This is what she wanted.
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."

Yeah.

It wasn't me who ended it, after all. So why let her back in?

I didn't mean that I didn't believe you.

I was just wondering how you came to those conclusions. You're probably right.
