Even if dealing with something difficult opens you to a spiritual awakening, one does not simply walk into....I mean go from no understanding to complete understanding of one's self. Aang managed to achieve control of his avatar state after a number of trials that allowed him to shed his emotional baggage. Korra, as you stated, never had emotional baggage before coming to Republic City and after it was over she was more tormented and confused then at any point before. In other words the state she is in is the complete opposite place Aang was.

As for the air bending goes, it wasn't so much the matter that she managed to do it, but rather how good she seemed to be right off the bat. Granted it could have been Tenzin's lessons finally sticking, but if that's the case then why was her form more like a fire bender's? Air bending is based on Baguazhang, I've studied that martial art a bit. It's also known as open palm style and is a fluid defensive form. What she was doing was rigid, close fisted, and aggressive. So it wasn't anything Tenzin taught her. Now perhaps she had put her knowledge of other bending styles to use? That sort of then negates the purpose of having the different styles be based on actual martial arts schools. You have different styles of bending as each form is better suited to controlling that given element. Air is not a rigid aggressive element, it's very fluid and neutral. Not to say cross style application cannot occur, Iroh himself used water bending as an inspiration for redirecting lightning, but he also said himself lightning is very different from other types of fire bending.

It didn't really look like Korra had alot of ability with airbending. She just shot crude gusts at Amon, nothing as graceful as the airbending we've seen. I think the techniques is just to utilize the bending arts to their potential, but it doesn't keep them from working.

but Lin's is seriously the best from anyone in the new series' canon because it sums up her character, was the first thing her character really DOES in the eyes of the fans, IS what she would do, she's fucking METAL as hell in so many ways, and aside from korra and maybe tenzin does the most bad-ass shit. god. Lin X anyone 4 evar OTP. She's the man in any of the relationships--I say this with the metaphysical awareness that she would in fact give this iconic gesture she now has developed and basically trademarked, having read any of the post I have just made.

Korra was never strong and developed, and Bolin was never popular with girls.

The first one only needs to remove the word "developed" because Korra did start out pretty strong (Katara: "She's strong" *korra defeats firebenders with ease*, not to mention how much ass she kicked when she first arrived to the city, that's what defines her, she's strong but naive and inexperienced, but strong she was oh yes she 'was'.) By the end of this book Korra is both chickified and pussified from the first korra we saw, which was a korra i liked because she didn't infuriate me as much as the korra from near the end of the season.

Bolin never popular with girls huh, you already forgot the whole "Mako: Shit Bolin, you brought ANOTHER crazy fangirl here again?", *bolin enters the stage, cue millions of fangirls going BOLIIIIN LET ME SUCK YO DICK*. Bolin starts out super famous between the girls that attend the arena, which are quite enough girls for anyone to assume Bolin is popular with girls. Just cuz he's not the chick magnet of the "main girls" doesn't mean he is not popular, but by the end of the season Bolin rarely speaks, and he does so only to say something silly/"funny" or to get brushed off coldly by the pussified Korra. He essentially becaomes not only a clown, but THE clown, because him being an earthbender makes him even less popular (with the avatar fandom) because there is already a much better and interesting earthbender called Lin that kicks so much ass her feet permanently smell of farts.

So yeah, i'd say the picture is pretty spot on imo, if anything it just need "developed" to be removed for nitpickyness sake, but tbqh the image is self-explanatory.
