i think he plans to use pure endurance , take beatings and keep getting back up, protecting mimi, and looking back into mandys eyes, show her his desperate but sincere detrmination. and maybe sway Mandy with nonviolent resistance. and maybe there is a 1% chance the nergals will activate on thier own survival instinct and junior will have like a halo ichigo moment. wauAAHAHAHH!

So let's examine the issue: Mimi is weak and defenseless on the ground and out of super dangerous demon form. Shame. She looks better with red skin. Jr. is standing up to his mother in the last update........only to be punched and kneed in the gut by Mandy.
I'm not that shocked, honestly. Because when you think about it, Mandy doesn't exactly love her kids. Not that she hates them, but can you really say she feels much affection for them. I think it's more of a have kids, use them for some really important battle or something in the days to come situation. All the children she's had so far are pretty powerful. That may be just what she needs in them--power.
So slapping, punching, and kneeing Jr. must not be much of a big deal.
Mandy is pretty cold, but she probably has her reasons for hurting her own son. She might be trying to tell him shut up, get out of the way because you have no idea what this is or why it's happening. Which I kind of understand. I mean, when you're Mandy, you don't want any of your kids messing up your plans. Shut up and stand on the sidelines until I tell you to do something, that's probably her rule.
This is really starting to heat up. Wonder what gonna be Jr.'s next move...
EDIT: Anyone else counting on Blossom showing up? Mimi did say,"ma" at one point.

Wat if and MAYBE wat if not only Blossom help Mimi/Jr. but Bubbles and Buttercup go with her?
