We all know you're a bit incredibly tasteless, so the fact that that you enjoy simpleminded games is no surprise, seriously.

Hey quin, did you ever play Tales of Symphonia?

ToS was probably the best RPG for the gamecube IMO. I actually still have it sitting next to my TV for nostalgia purposes.

I found it a bit funny how simplistic the game was. You couldn't tell if you just glanced over it, but the creators originally seemed to have no hopes for the game, it seems so low budget when you think about it (cel-shade, jerky "default" animations (lloyd drawing his sword to menace an enemy is forever burned to my brain, limited expressions and movement, etc), it was until the sequel that they finally worked it a bit more, though i'll always regret not being able to play the sequel.

Those are some of the ones that I lump in under strategy.

As most might; you hardly hear the term "tactical" anymore as an adjective for those games.

I've been itching for a good stategy/tactical game recently, but I'm a bit behind the times on what's a good game and such. Lately I've been playing LOTR: BFME II, would anyone mind suggesting some more strategy games I could pick up on the cheap for Xbox or PC?

I've always been a fan of the Total War series since Rome came out. Haven't got a chance to play Shogun II yet though, waiting for its price point to drop a little more.

Endwar was eh, interesting idea but the voice commands could have been done a little bit better. It always felt awkward using them. I've heard good things about the Civilization games, I suppose I'll give them a shot.

Also googled From Dust, seems like something I might like but it'll have to wait.

Anyone know any good tactical rpgs? More obscure ones, please.

It's a game. People don't like games anymore, they expect toys (which you can play over and over and over and over), not games. From dust is great, but it has no replay value, because is a one-shot so to speak.

They're hardly obscure but you can give the Fire Emblem games a whirl. Go do them on the hardmode.

Golden Sun was awesome on the GBA. If you can find any copies in a used game store, get 'em.

I own both the GBA Golden Suns, in fact I just replayed through them this last fall. I highly recommend them, although I haven't played the third one for the DS as of yet.

There's one for the DS?

I'll end up hunting it down, then.

Not much into straight video games. My two favorite games that I enjoy playing are PC ones: "B-17 Flying Fortress; The Mighty Eight" and "Silent Hunter III" (with the GWX mod).

justdance2fan, the filesize of your avatar is too large. I'm going to remove it for now. Please keep it around 50kb or so.
