I don't think SOPA has been pulled, the article I posted was only about one part of it getting dropped.

Would signing the petition REALLY help? I have signed so many only for them to not resolve any issues, that I honestly don't sign them anymore, but if this one were to actually do something, I've got a lot of people who could also help out.

And that thinking is why they fail. Not enough people sign them because they think it won't do anything and they fall short of their goal. Sometimes the legislators don't care, but you still have to make the effort.

I can understand google not doing a full blackout since lots of people get to the other sites using google, though they could have done more... like a splash screen or something.

Though I'm not surprised that Facebook has done nothing.

They're all businesses, Wikipedia is a nonprofit and so doesn't care. And there's really no good alternative to it either so there's no worry about losing traffic.

And Dresden maybe instead of signing petitions you should contact your representative.
