Welcome to Somewhere

Postby InsaneWhisper » Tue Dec 27, 2011 10:37 pm

A shadow-less expanse of white opens up into endless possibility and within it a bright pair of yellow eyes twitches open taking in light for the first time it can remember. Bodiless the eyes look forward blinking wildly as they adjust to the brightness, unable to focus until a massive black pillar attracts the eyes’ attention. It blinks with regularity that is familiar, and the eyes try to drift closer, but finding themselves unable. The eyes look down in confusion and see hoove-like feet on a leave covered ground.

------------

The being jumped in surprise before jerking around to look at the scenery. No longer a simple white world, they found themselves in a small clearing encircled with brambles that left only one way out. Forward. The being scratched their head and took a step forward only to trip over something. He snorted in disgust as he brushed the tree litter out of the soft grey fur covering his legs, and then picked up the offending object that caused his fall. It was a rather large book titled A Book. Flipping it open to a random page he nearly dropped the book as it began writing in itself.

“Welcome to Somewhere. w00t Others will join you soon. lol Good luck. ^_^ Oh and by the way, it’s about to rain. :sosad: Luckily I’m water-proof.

Shindig looked up at the sky and blanched. Rain was an understatement, the sky looked ominous, and he could already feel the wind picking up. He closed A Book and looked around trying to figure out where the others A Book had mentioned were going to come from.

Crochet sighed. He was fairly bored with wandering. He stopped walking, just staring into the distance.

Towel blinked in confusion of where he was. at least He tried to blink but his lack of eye lids prevented him from blinking. So he put his now still blurry arm in front of his eyes to block the light. He wanted to know where he was and more importantly what he was.

~ Marmalade ~
~ White on White ~

The world could only be perceived as white. An absolute white. It was like a singularity, pure energy attracting everything else in... But no... There was something... There was a black line... Or was it black? Yes it had to be black. It was a strange black horizon, flashing as if taunting anyone who saw it. A pair of white eyes that could not be distinguished from the surroundings looked around looking for something... Something familiar something to stimulate the eyesight. But there was nothing and the eyes were desperate. It was just the black horizon and this land of pure white. Then a sharp pain. A pain as strong as anyone ever felt. The pain made the eyes black out for a moment and then again, it seemed like a very familiar sensation. It felt like... blinking... The eyes blinked between colours, red, blue, black, brown, green, orange, all the colours had a very unnatural feel to them. Then the pain stopped and the white eyes were now still there. After all those colours all that was left was white. The eyes sulked for a moment and then something happened.

The eyes saw once again, but what they saw now was not the singularity. They saw grass, they realised they weren't just eyes, they were someone... They were something... What was still very hazy to tell. What the being knew now was that it wasn't a nobody, just a pair of eyes. The brambles around did not prevent the wind to swish in the clearing, it was a cool breeze filled with the smells of the forest and particles of dirt. The being brought its arms up to cover its eyes, then the wind passed and the being found that it's arms were covered in scars. The being had fair skin, almost white but its fair skin was filled with red scars. Red scars covered its arms. It enthralled the being. This was something. Then the being looked around and saw a way out of the clearing. It moved forward and there it found someone else. A being that he had not seen before, at least as far as it remembered. The being had fur and hoofs on its feet and eyes of yellow. On its hands it held a book, a very large book. The being had a sudden urge of curiosity, it wondered what the book was about, what was its story. Maybe it liked books? Maybe... But now it was time for answers. "You!" it shouted and was surprised at its own voice, it sounded husky with a tone of tiredness and weak borderline sickly. The being let out a cough "Do you know where we are?" the being asked a bit more quietly.

Yet another set of eyes began to open in the blank space. Twin orbs of gold flashed on white before narrowing back to slits. With the eyes came a consciousness, whose first thought was of discomfort; its sight was being compromised when moments ago its sight had not even existed. Giving a few further moments of consideration to this fact, the entity realized that yes, it had eyes, and yes, they were weak. While they might have worked perfectly under certain levels of light and without obstruction, these eyes could be blinded, blocked, fooled, gouged out entirely, or otherwise inhibited. These eyes were imperfect, which in turn meant the entity who possessed them was imperfect as well. With the realization of its own flawed nature, the thing felt a welling of emotions, frustration and fear, but it quickly suppressed them. After all, they were simply further flaws.

Recovering its composure, the thing closed its first two eyes before opening the rest. The gold of the irises blinked on and off across the span of what seemed to be the thing's body. Growing tired of experimentation, it closed all but the original two, both located at what could loosely be defined as its front. After blinking a few more times, the eyes noticed an odd black bar flashing before it.

Suddenly, Potpourri was surrounded by things: grass, trees, air. It pointed an eye skyward, noting the dark clouds above. However, Potpourri was more interested in the beings in the clearing before it. It hung back in the shadows, not wanting to be spotted before it understood these creatures. Scars, fur, and of course, eyes. They were limited by the definition of their features, perhaps more so than Potpourri itself. They were speaking, but Potpourri decided against joining them, or making its presence known. It would wait and observe before acting.

((I guess I'll be editing some details into the character sheet.))

Laundry ~ It's Laundry Day

Yet another pair of eyes emerged into the white space. They were of a bright orange color, much like little flames dancing about in the blank white space. Wait, what was dancing? What was flame? What was space? The entity didn't know any of these. Come to think of it, what was an entity? What was thinking? Before even that thought could process the plane on which it resided suddenly black out and emerged anew as a lush field surrounded by brambles.

Wait a minute, what are brambles? What's a field? What's an entity? Why am I asking these questions? I still don't know what questions are! What is an I? Is it me? What is a me? The fiery eyes danced about in confusion welling up with tears as they did. What were tears!? Were they these little beads of water dripping down the entity's face? What was a face!? What was water!? The being staggered for a moment, falling to the ground only to outstretch its arm and catch itself before landing. Curiously enough it didn't question what it's arm was. Why didn't it question what its arm was? Was that he only thing it already knew? What did it mean to know!?

The being jumped back, landing completely flat on the lush grass below. It was so soft to the touch. What was soft? What was touch? Was it this feeling against his hand? What was a hand? The eyes flashed over its hand seeing only a giant lobster claw. What was a lobster claw!? Furthermore why was this one giant in comparison to a normal lobster claw? What was giant? What was normal?

A noise, what noise? What is noise? Again it filled the being's ears. What were ears? Another noise, and again what is noise? 'Do you know where we are?' it asked. Was that a question? How was the being supposed to respond? What was a response? Maybe if it made some noise? How did it make noise? What did it mean to make!? Slowly the entity raised its lobster claw into the air and smashed it on the ground, resulting in a soft thud. What was a thud? Again it struck the earth with its claw, causing another thud to echo out. The being's eyes lit up. Repetition! It had discovered something. Wait, what was repetition? What was discover?

Again the being's mind swarmed with questions. WHAT WERE QUESTIONS? Were they those things it didn't know? WHAT WERE THINGS!? Someone give it answers! WHAT WERE ANSWERS!? Did they make the questions go away? What did it mean to go away!? "Make it stop!!" the being finally cried out. What was that? More noise? "What!?" There it was again, though it was different. WHAT WAS DIFFERENT!? "I'm here: what is this?" I'm here? What did that mean? What is mean? What is here? What is I'm!? Finally, WHAT IS THIS!?

Towel:
Finally his eyes adjusted and he saw his arm. It was metalic and thin ending in a larger appendageImage
Was this how it's supposed to look like? Probably, otherwise it would'nt look like this. And his other arm, look nearly the same only it ended in a small series of holes. before towel could react something or someone cried out he looked up and saw the field surrounding him. He saw a pair of eyes crying they where lower than his view so this being must be a bit smaller than him. He started moving towards it. Trying to think what it was you said when you saw something. [H. H. HELLO?] his voice sounded monotone and without emotion. [HELLO?]

Toffee

Black. Everything is black. No, my eyes are closed? Toffee sat up and opened her eyes, looking around to see everything was white. "Where am I?" she asked herself, raising to her feet. Suddenly, objects began appearing and other creatures. "Hello?" she asked, looking at the group. "Do you know where we are?" Her voice was melodic.

Snapple ~ it's a kick in the glass

White. White.

White. White was emptiness, and

before anything else a breath

Snapple was surrounded in blackness. It felt something on its face and only observed blackness. It heard the sound of its own breath and opened a hole on itself. A strange sensation filled it, a feeling combined with a reaction chemically, and a sense of revulsion. It was taste, and what Snapple tasted was dirt. Unthinkingly, Snapple moved an appendage to its side upward, and continued doing so for some time, shifting the dirt around itself. Eventually, the beings hand sprung from the earth in the clearing and Snapple knew something other than dirt, the sight of its own hand in the light. A long shimmering object that pierced the sky, a fine edge on either of its sides. To one who perhaps knew a bit more of what things were defined as, it was a sword, but to Snapple, it was its own arm.

Snapple slashed through the rest of the dirt and emerged to observe other beings in front of it. it panted heavily and coughed up dirt from its mouth. It was caked in dirt and it fell to the ground as soon as it stood up. It would move later. It didn't know who these others were or where it was, but it figured that these things could wait. For now, it simply wanted to remove the taste of dirt from its mouth.

~Cabinet~

A pair of pale grey eyes slowly opened, wincing as it took in the brightness of the great expanse of white nothingness that surrounded it. It felt as though it were floating in space, or maybe it was in purgatory. Who was he? Was it even a he? Was it a she? Was it human? Was it alive? Was it dead? Or was it about to be born?

It looked around as it slowly adjusted to the blinding white around it. It reached out a hand, staring in bewilderment as the blurred appendage seemed to refuse to keep it's developing shape and color for a mere two seconds before it turned into something else. One moment it appeared to have tan skin, the next pale as porcelain, and after that, skin that was burnt to a crisp, and the next, a wooden appendage. It felt disturbed as it watched its arm mutate so drastically and quickly looked away. It looked on, looking for something in the distance, anything that wasn't just this whiteness.

What was that? Up ahead, there seemed to be a large black pillar. It hadn't been there before, had it? Cabinet certainly hadn't noticed it until now, almost as though it had appeared out of nowhere. The black pillar contrasted so much against the whiteness that it seemed to be beckoning out to Cabinet, and Cabinet obliged as it slowly walked forward with what it presumed were its legs, and suddenly, the world around it was replaced with a small green field surrounded by brambles, the sky dark and ominous.

Cabinet blinked as it took in the new surroundings. It looked around and saw that it was now accompanied by several others who seemed to be under similar circumstances as itself, all of them half-assembled entities who seemed utterly lost and confused. Cabinet noticed one particular entity, with yellow eyes and hooved feet, holding a book of sorts. Cabinet tilted its still non-existent head to the side as it stared at the curious-looking book. Would the book contain the answers to their questions?

Shindig jumped and nearly fell on his face when a voice called out to him. Apparently he was clumsy he mused, then turned towards the other being to see who had joined him. "Somewhere," he said in a childish voice as he took in the other's scars and white eyes un-afraid due to never seeing anyone before in his memory, "Or at least that's what this book said anyway. It also said others were going to come-" He cut himself off as others began to appear one by one, even picking up on one that seemed to be hiding itself with his keen ears. "I'm not exactly sure what we're supposed to do, but I think we need to find shelter soon," he gestured to the sky, "A Book said it's going to rain." He responded similarly to Toffee's question as he opened A Book again this time planning to ask it a direct question. "How many of us are there?"

A Book began writing in itself again, this time its tone far more sharp, "At the moment 13. Now stop dilly-dallying and find a place to get out of this weather. The others will come when they're ready." A Book slammed itself shut causing Shindig to flinch and nearly drop it. "I uh... think it wants us to get moving? I don't know what we should do about the others though." He rubbed his head in thought feeling slight bumps. A puzzled expression crossed his face and he poked one. Huh, I have horns, he realized.

Crochet started to notice things about his surroundings... He started to become incredibly confused. He'd noticed the following; Crochet had no idea who or what he was. Not even gender. He just figured it'd be easier to pick one. Also, the world around him was nothing but a white blank. He looked down. The SCARIEST fricking thing he'd ever seen in his incredibly short life: nothing. Was he falling? Was he even there at all?

He looked up, and saw a black pillar in the distance. Relief! He'd finally found something to cling to! Crochet went closer and closer to the pillar, until...

He found himself in a green plain. He..felt like he was crying. He knew nothing, he understood nothing, and it hurt him. If anyone could see him, or hear him, or even acknowledge him, they would find him sobbing on the grass, hugging his legs as he lie there on his side.

The fact that he himself was questioning his own existence was like a dagger in his chest.

Snapple ~ Unleash the Power of the Sun

Snapple lay on the ground beside the group, listening quietly as the hooved one explained their situation and the presence of this book. It didn't know much of what to think other than the basic need to find shelter. It pondered staying in the rain, to at least get water to wash the dirt away, but decided against this. Uneasily, Snapple stood up and approached the other gathering entities.

"Storm coming... if we're going to build a shelter, best we should all get working on it. We can figure out more once out of the storm.. Let's move I guess.." Snapple felt an urge to scratch its back but soon realized that satiating this urge would be a bad idea, given the stately appendages which for the time being represented its arms. Just then, however, the scratch went away as something scratched at them along Snapple's back, it felt fingers, and began to understand. In addition to two swords for arms, it also possessed two spindly arms that grew from its back. Snapple looked at the others and wondered if they would move.

Towel looked around to see the furry creature that had spoken. Wait a minute If those where legs then it should feel different when you walked. He looked down a his own legs only to see that his body connected to a pair of tank tracks. Towel looked back to the path he had walked and saw a trail of crushed vegetation behind him. Oh well At least I can move. Then the creature spoke about rain and suddenly a inate fear took over and Towel started looking for a place to hide. rain meant rust, rust meant Immobility, and that means an 85% chance of death. He rushed past the creature While yelling [ I DONT WANT TO DIE! ]

White, just endless, massive white. The world seemed endless, or perhaps it was smaller than anyone could possibly imagine. Inside this vast white wasteland were a set of eyes, floating, or perhaps laying on the ground. It looked around, or at least it thought it looked around. It tried to move, or at least it thought it tried to move. It was all very difficult to do without a body, or perhaps it had a body, and it was made out of the same white substance.

But the white changed, a black line appeared on the horizon. The eyes looked at it curiously, it was odd to suddenly have a focal point, almost nauseating. It tried to look around again, see if perhaps now it could. It could not. It tried to move around, perhaps now it could notice a difference in distance. It could not.

And just as sudden as the black monolith had appeared, it was gone, replaced by lush green plants. There was no spectacle, no popping sound of it coming into existence. It was just suddenly there.

The suddenly climax of new senses, sound, smell, feeling, thought, caused it to fall forward. Luckily it managed to catch itself in time, by stretching out it's hands. The grass felt nice and soft, the ground felt solid. It sat upright, holding it's hands in front of it, they were small, delicate even, with small claws ending at the end of each finger. Though the most notable feature was probably the soft, near black fur covering its hands and arms. It followed it's arms with wonderment, noting they connected to a body. And it looked down at its body, noting that it was not an it at all. It was a she. A quite convincing she in fact.

She was sitting on her knees, looking down at a rather voluptuous chest, also covered in a fine layer of fur. But this fur was white, going from her chest down to her stomach. But around her waist the blackish fur picked up again and ran down her legs.

She suddenly felt like her face was warming up, like a fire was near it. Although, she couldn't quite remember what fire was exactly, just that it was very warm. She brought her hands up to her face, ready to douse out any flames that may be on it. But there was no fire, or flames. With the fiery had also come a new sensation, the sudden need to cover up. Although it seemed redundant, her fur was doing a more than good enough job at covering anything up, but the nagging feeling was very persistent.

That was when she noticed there were others around her, a very odd group of individuals. Then again, it was the first group of individuals she had met, so could she really call them odd? But with this sudden realization, came an even warmer feeling in her face, as if she had dipped it into fire directly, and an even greater need to cover up. Which she promptly did by covering herself using her hands.

"Hel- Oooh!" Her own voice had startled her, it was soft and had a dreamy tone to it. It re-enkindled the flames in her cheeks, as it suddenly felt like all the eyes in the world were forced upon her. "Euhm, h-hello... Euhm, does anybody know whats going on?" she trailed off, as she lost her courage to speak. She quickly turned her gaze away from the others, instead focusing on a suddenly very interesting pebble between the grass.

Confetti - Happy New Year!

'Everything's so bright.' Confetti opened its eyes. The pair of magenta eyes searched around the white expanse but Confetti wasn't sure what it was searching for exactly. 'What is this place? How did I get here?' Confetti took a step forward, discovering it had legs. 'Interesting.' Step after step, Confetti slowly explored the white emptiness. But was it really empty?

Suddenly everything changed. It was a quick transition yet smooth. Confetti looked with confusion around this new scenery, a clearing. There were some others up ahead. One had yellow eyes, another had white eyes, someone else had orange eyes. Confetti approached the group, 'Hello.' When they didn't turn around Confetti discovered that they could not hear its thoughts. Maybe it was instinct or maybe luck, but Confetti began speaking, "Hello...the sky. There is a storm coming." Confetti pointed at the sky as a few drops of rain landed on its face. While pointing, Confetti learned it had hands and fingers to point with.

-Pumpernickle, whitey whiteness..... of white?-

Everything was the same. Nothingness personified. All was one and one was all. A wall of white or was there no wall at all? "Come to think of it, if there was nothing then how am I able to witness it?" Came a deep mellow voice that belonged to a pair of orange eyes that floated in this nothingness, the only contrast that on a technicality defined the space around him. "Am I dead? Did I even exist to begin with? What's going on?"
"You know, that's a really odd question, the second one. If you question your existence, then how did you gain knowledge of the definition of what it means to exist in the first place? I mean if you-"
"Who said that?" The pair of eyes asked looking about the voice pitched slightly higher now due to a small hint of panic, "Where are you?"
"Well your the only one here so logically that would mean I'm you."
"That doesn't make any sense! Not in the slightest! I mean how does that even work? You can't be me, I'm me!"
"Didn't you just question our existence? I came up with a solution. Problem solved. Or do you have a better explanation?"
"Maybe I'm having a conversation with myself?"

There was an awkward pause as the pair of eyes just stared with a puzzled look, "And how does that explain our situation? I mean what would be the logic in that?"
"I could be crazy and be talking to myself, changing my voice and-"
"Change my voice? How can you even tell?"
"The color you speak in is different."
What.
"No idea... Just something that popped into my head...I mean it would explain everything, I went crazy and now I'm in my own little world though why it's white is beyond me. Perhaps I'm some kind of genius and this white has some kind of deeper meaning! But how would I be even aware of this if I'm insane? Was the cause of my insanity be due to me over thinking everything. Okay, simplify, just think something stupid. I am.... a rock. No. Even better. I'm a rock on fire" The pair of eyes sounded smug, that was until it notice that a small fire had sparked into life just in front of it.
"I'll be damned, I am on fire." The pair of eyes looked closer into the flames before realization sank in, "Wait. I am on fire. I'M ON FIRE! Okay, okay stay calm, I don't have limbs, I don't even know I exist... wait if I don't exist then how does this fire exist? That would mean I do exist since I am able to witness.... AAARRGH. This doesn't make any sense!"

Without warning the scenery changed into one filled with grass and brambles, the world shifted so suddenly that the pair of eyes might as well as blinked and missed how it all happened. Only the pair of eyes found that it had now limbs to his amazement.
I've got legs, two of them, boots of sorts, pants, underwear. Hey I'm male...well that sounded odd...I've got a torso, arms, hands, fire, fingers, I even got, wait fire? WHY AM I STILL ON FIRE. Out, out, out, out." The male with orange eyes said, as he somewhat frantically waving his hand about trying to put it out and to his bewilderment the flames vanished leaving not even a trace of smoke.
"This is the strangest day I've had.... Assuming I've had experienced days before, if not then...." He groaned sinking to his knees before falling face first into the grass.

Crochet was still on the ground. He'd stopped crying, but he was still afraid. He also finally figured out a few things about...herself.

Thought she was in no mood to feel silly about it, she'd been calling herself male this entire time. She didn't really inspect it then, though. After all, she was more focused on what was going on. But when her voice finally came into focus, she could tell that she was a female. Also, she was wearing a white vest-like top with a furry black hood and a black M printed on the upper front, covering her A-cups, thankfully for her. Pants, at this point, could wait to be checked for, since she could feel the fabric on her hips and legs. At this point, she needed to think; Where exactly did she come from?

...Oh why did she have to think about the whiteness again?! She could feel herself shivver, caused by both the pre-storm winds and those..torturous memories! That horriblle place was her birthplace as far as her memories took her! She whimpered like a lost puppy in the rain as she started to hug herself again, about to cry.

No tears...

Crochet blinked, timidly raising her head. She looked around. No one.

I only...have so much time...to help...

"EEEEEEEEEEKK!" Crochet jumped, running away. What was that voice?!

STOP.

She stopped. She definitely didn't want to, but... Something in her head just... Trusted the voice. As if it were a lost friend or something. Seemed a lot older than her, though. A male's voice, in his 30s judging by tone. He also...seemed in pain.

...You...must remember...

Crochet blinked. "...but..." she spoke timidly, and for the first time no less! "...That place...It's...It's so scary!"

The voice did not answer.

"...no...No!" Crochet pleaded. "No! M-Mister Voice! Mister Voice, please, don't go! I don't wanna be alone right now!"

Still no answer. Just the echo of her own voice.

"...no..." she murmured. She hung her head, holding herself. "...I'm...all alone..." She couldn't bear the thought at the moment. She had no idea where she was, who she was, and until about 15 minutes ago, what she was.

"...Where am I...?"

White. Endless, forever, an eternal sentence or a limitless expanse. The largest thing in the universe or the tiniest fragment imaginable. Perspective is pretty damn hard to tell when you know nothing. But the limitless white was interupted by something, a blip on the radar, a stain of ink on the essay, a wobble in the truth detector. Suddenly, color came to the white plain as two putrid light green eyes bursted into flames. Or perhaps they were flames and just mistaken for as eyes.

The flames looked about, staring into the white. Perhaps it was staring for an eternity or a fraction of a second, but something else interrupted it. The normally passive and uncaring white light that surronded the green eyes was suddenly different. A long black strip pierced through the white space, modifying the landscape of eternity. Almost spontaneously the white light changed it's attitude and was no longer passive to Frisbee, instead it garnered hatred and burnt the being's body. Or atleast whatever it could call a body. This was the first feeling Frisbee would feel, a horrible, blood curdling feeling that didn't have a name. Pain would be suitably, a proper title for what this bad feeling feels like it thinks, pain that wraps around it's entire body and burrowed into every pore and every hole.

The pain was cut short by a new feeling: gravity. Because just like that Frisbee left the white plain and crashed into the ground. The being never saw itself fall, nor did it feel the sensation of plummeting. Whether Frisbee plummeted in a nano second, or if the ground itself rose up and slammed into Frisbee is up for debate; all that Frisbee know's is that their is a small crater around itself and that it is feeling the bad feeling of pain again. Crawling out of the crater Frisbee get's a look at itself and discovers a few things. It's hands are rough and metallic, claw like with Metal armor linked together. Boils and strange secretions covered it's body, which was covered in a suit of dirty dark armor; stained and on the path of having the grime make the armor black.

Finally dragging itself out of the crater it lies on it's back and rests, taking a moment to further assess itself. Upon further investigation it discovers it's a man, or atleast it thinks so. The horrible condition of his body makes it hard to tell. But as of now it has taken a term and stuck with it. Rolling over it pushes itself up and begins to look around.

All of these new senses and new sights are a bit overwhelming. It smelt the grass and the trees, heard the wind blow through the air, and licked the inside of his own metal helmet. The last one wasn't quite so amazing but it was still new and wonderful. Perhaps more intriguing then tasting the grime on the inside of a helmet would be the things around him. Furry things, metal things, booky things, even things that planted their faces to the ground like Frisbee!  Oh what wonderful things. And these things made noises to! Different noises for Frisbee to hear, noises like "I don't want to day" or "Storm" or "Anyone". Their should be more words! Their should be a whole book of words like the hoof thing holds! I should do that sometime, make lots and lots of words, then put them in a book! But how do I put things in books? Maybe by talking to the book? Frisbee thought. Thinking was pretty good aswell, but not as good as words and talking.

Staring at the furry creature covering herself up Frisbee opens his mouth and begins to talk....with WORDS! "No, I don't know what's happening. But I know it's great!" Frisbee's voice surprised him, it was filled with flem and sounded gross and he ended up coughing pretty bad at the end of him talking. Still, their has to be a downside to talking right? Otherwise it wouldn't be so amazing.

Snapple ~ It's a Carolina Thing

Snapple heard the shrill cries of Crochet and turned to face the female as she lay on the ground. "Calm down!" It erupted with a gruff voice. "There's nothing bad happening!" Crochet realized at that moment with Crochet's voice piercing his ears that there was a thing called pain, and that the absence of such a sensation was to be considered the neutral, the default.

"Jeez," Snapple reached its secondary set of arms around and saw that they were very long and narrow, a dark black color adorned with bristle-like hairs.

"Others just keep on coming..." It looked to Shindig, as the one holding the book. "Hey, book-keep! Think we should get a move on? If things keep showing up like this, odds are that eventually one of them is going to be something not good."

Snapple had struggled to come up with a descriptor for what it felt would come. Its notion of pain was still slightly underdeveloped for it to use that as a descriptor, but it felt that it had a firm enough grasp of what was good and not good to use these terms.

Toffee

She looked around, watching the group. She didn't know how to do anything, other than walk, talk, eat, sleep... She then realized she was basically a child. "We need to learn about ourselves and each other as much as we can." she said, not caring if anyone heard her. She would have prefered if they didn't.

-Yoohoo-
Things happened fast for the dark browns eyes, staring around the white expanse. The only thing in it's own space, just like the others, had it known there were others. The expanse was infinite sameness, what was flowing into what is and what would come. And finally there the eyes saw something different, contrast. A solid line of opposite white was flowing, moving, drifting through the void, passing right by. The being turned it's eyes towards where the black stream came from, and suddenly everything was different.

Looking around, it saw others. Many others, all gathered here. Here was a field, a clearing, smaller then it first thought. Brambles surrounded them, forcing them together. Scratching his head at the strange sight, the being nearly knocked his hat off. Yes, his fine dapper top hap, sitting squarely on his head. He couldn't for the life of him figure out how long it had been there, but is was certainly there now. "So, how are you all today?" He asked, trying to be polite. Yes, one meeting strangers should be polite, that felt quite right. Even if they were weird. Were they? Maybe he was the weird one. No no, of course not. Couldn't be. At least, the brown eyes thought so.

Confetti - Party Like it's 1999!

Confetti turned to Crotchet, annoyed by the sounds she was making. "Stop that." Confetti's voice was not demanding but rather pleasant. Unlike some of the others gathered around, Confetti's voice was sexually ambiguous as was its appearance. The being got an urge to get off the ground. It bent its knees then sprang up in the air, gravity pulling the magenta eyed it back to the ground. "Can't go that way," Confetti informed Cabinet. It was then that it heard Yoohoo approach and ask his question.

"Lost." Confetti responded happily. It then proceeded to try the jumping thing again. And again it didn't work. After the second failure Confetti hopped its way to Shindig and Snapple to examine the book the yellow eyed being held. "Not good," Confetti joyfully parroted Snapple. The magenta eyes sparkled, shining brightly in contrast to the dark, ominous sky. Confetti began bobbing its head as though it were listening to song (not that it knew what a song was or at least not that it knew it knew) as it looked around.

Shindig shuddered slightly as the being with the dangerous sword-arms spoke to him, "I... I don't know. The book says so, but I just picked it up a little while ago." He tugged at the cover of the book, "And now it won't open. I think it was annoyed." His bright yellow eyes began to well up and he sniffled as the rain began to fall slightly harder. He looked up at the sky which was a dangerous shade of dark and then looked back at the being, "I really want to get out of here."

Suddenly lightning tore across the sky followed moments behind by a crash of thunder causing the poor boy to jump in fear with a yelp. He dropped the book and took off down the path blindly with no more thought only stopping when he tripped over a root. He lay in a puddle trembling and eyes open wide staring into space.

~Cabinet~

Cabinet blinked and looked up at the sky as it felt drops of rain pelt its face, softly at first, then steadily harder. "Maybe...m-maybe we should do as that book says and get out of here..." Cabinet spoke, a little startled to find that it had a soft and child-like voice. Was Cabinet a child, then? Cabinet looked down at its arm, wondering if this little fact about its voice helped to solidify something of itself. It noticed that it's arm, while still blurry, seemed to be sticking to a skin color and texture now; white porcelain. No, not white as porcelain, but rather, it seemed its skin was made of porcelain. Glancing down further, it seemed that it's legs were finally coming into the same blurry view as its arms, and they, too, appeared to be made or porcelain. As far as it could tell, Cabinet still had no torso, blurry or solid. It looked like Cabinet had a humanoid form so far, but whether or not it was human was still something to be discovered.

Cabinet yelped as the sound of thunder following the bright flash of lightning tore it from its thoughts, reminding Cabinet that there was a storm here, and it wasn't the time to be wondering about such things. It watched as Shindig raced out of the field and down the only path that was available for them to travel, then chased after him, hoping the path would lead to shelter. It skidded to a stop as it saw Shindig on the ground, laying in the middle of a puddle. "Are you okay, mister?" Cabinet asked him as it walked up to Shindig and held out its hand, which now seemed to finally be taking a solid shape.
