Currently going through season 2 of Classic Who. William Hartnell is adorable and awesome.

Matt Smith has announced that he'll be done with Doctor Who after the next series. Thoughts?

Not entirely surprising but I'm a little saddened.

I never really liked Matt playing the Doctor. I guess after watching David Tennant, my standards were raised.

Welp. Matt Smith isn't leaving. He hasn't officially announced it, and him leaving appears to be just a rumour.

In other news, I don't think this has been posted yet, so I'm just going to leave these two amazing videos here.
These were both shown at the Doctor Who Wrap party at the end of David Tennant's tenure, when Russel T Davies, Julie Gardner and David Tennant were all leaving Doctor Who.

Doctor Who Cast & Crew perform "500 Miles" by the Proclaimers
David Tennant, John Barrowman and Catherine Tate perform: "The Ballad of Russel and Julie" (Let's Do It Tonight)

This is why I love the cast and crew of Doctor Who.

And I've fallen in love with David Tennant's acting all over again.

Also, Sue from Catering is now a Doctor Who meme. It's brilliant.

So after many years toying with the idea and fucking around, they're finally making (another) Doctor Who movie.

GUYS.
A DOCTOR WHO MOVIE.

BBC News wrote:Doctor Who 'to be made into film'
Dr Who is to be taken to the big screen by Harry Potter director David Yates.

Yates, who directed the last four Potter films, told Variety that he is about to start work on developing a "Doctor Who" film with the BBC.

He told the showbiz magazine that the film would take a fresh approach to the cult sci-fi show.

"We're going to spend two to three years to get it right. It needs quite a radical transformation to take it into the bigger arena," he said.

"Russell T. Davies and then Steven Moffat have done their own transformations, which were fantastic, but we have to put that aside and start from scratch," he said.

Yates is reported to be working with the head of LA-based BBC Worldwide Productions, Jane Tranter.

Doctor Who began in 1963, and seven actors played the Doctor before the show was dropped in 1989.

After a TV movie in 1996 - starring Paul McGann - the TV series returned in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston in the lead role. David Tennant took over in the same year.

The sixth series of Doctor Who, starring Matt Smith as the Doctor, broadcast on BBC earlier this year.

I have very very mixed feelings about this. :/

Or the earlier Peter Cushing Movies...
BASICALLY LOOKING AT ALL THE DOCTOR WHO MOVIES MADE IN THE PAST
