This makes me wonder. On one hand this post sounds negative... but then you're a Purpleeyes fan who is a brony himself... Hmmm.

Anywho, I'm just in it for the dragons. Everything else is just frosting. So much frosting.

Cool, werewolves return in Skyrim and we get to use the ring again.

It was fun slaughtering everybody in Morrowind.

I've pre-ordered my copy.
Really can't wait to get lost in Skyrim.

How much more of our life will we be putting in would you say in comparison to Oblivion? I'm guessing 20% more.

Probably a around 100% more if doesn't include all the stupid design mistakes that pretty much ruined vanilla Oblivion.

DEAR GOD MAN! I still have friends wasting hours into that game...

Note to self: don't lend V out to anyone.

If its anywhere near as moddable as Oblivion was, I'm sure I'll sink in another 500+ hours. God I loved Oblivion

Still skeptical about Skyrim though, Bethesda is on a losing streak and its a console port... so eh.

I think Skyrim is mostly non-scaling for levels. e.g. those Dragons gib you no matter what if you're not up to snuff.

Very, you now select health, magic or stamina to improve and then boost the skills you've been working on.

I think they dumbed down leveling even further

Also this game has over 70 voice actors, here's to hoping we wont hear 5 people in town with the same voice again!

Like every Orc has the same voice and almost every elf too.
Fallout was better in that aspect.

I did find that it strange that when you leveled up, the crab (plus everything else) did as well :/
Like you never truly rose above anything.

STILL!
Skyrim comes out next week.

I had a mod that removed that function, there were sometimes already Daedric monsters running about in caves while I was still lvl 3, like Morrowind did it. Made the game much more pleasant to play.

As akward as the leveling system was, I did like how you were able to increase your skills just by doing them unlike Fallout.

That's always been the stable of the The Elder Scrolls, "natural" skill increase. As naturally as skip-hopping all the time to level your acrobatics is anyways. One of the problems with Oblivion was that leveling up depend on increasing your core skills, with leveling, not skill increase, making monsters tougher. You could gimp yourself pretty hard by choosing the wrong core skills and not managing your leveling, or erase the difficulty entirely, bordering on cheating, by doing so.

Skyrim is still keeping it's naturalistic skill levelling, it's removing stupid things like Acrobatic/athletics and merging them into other thing or so I've read. It's just adding stuff like health/magic/stamina stuff like I said but also perks and stuff.

I was more referring to how the enemies leveled.

Sorry, viking funerals are for scandinavians only. Suck it.

As far as I understand, Fallout used a kind of modified scaling approach, where some areas didn't scale at all (here be Deathclaws), and others having their levels set when you entered them, so returning later would make the place a cake walk. Barely noticeable, it seemed to work pretty well, so I'd assume they'd use a similar system for Skyrim.

Oh, I actually found a source to back that up. Information about the level scaling in Fallout 3 has been oddly sparse, though, so I still don't get precisely how it works. I guess since it works now, nobody cares.

^Interesting.

One of my favorite things I'm looking forward to in Skyrim are assassination and finisher moves.
I don't know about you but when I played through Oblivion I always picture my character grabbing someone's face and melting/freezing it with the palm of their hand using magic! With that in mind I hope there are some assassination's with magic.
