Still a wip, should be done soon. Work has been pretty hectic as of late.
Name: Gol'grin "Gorebelly"
Race: Ogre
Age: 54
Career: Maneater
Appearance:Gol'grin is a truly a typical ogre, standing at an awe inspiring 11"3 with a tremendous girth to match. His dark, tanned skin is thick and tough, much like hardened leather and almost has the same texture (or so they say... though who'd be brave enough to find out.) while his mostly bold, bearded and somewhat pudgy head hide a small set of dim-lit eyes that reflect his intelligence or rather his lack of. Gol'grin's left eye is scarred, a reminder of a battle with a Sabertusk during his travels through his homeland; The
Mountains of Mourn.
There are numerous scars across his arms and torso, ranging from sword marks, animal bites, crossbow bolts and the occasional tribal mark. He wears each of them with pride and has a story behind each of them (as per tradition with ogre maneaters, they are long winded and may have been exaggerated).
On top his head he has a small mohawk, it's oddly neat considering how messy ogres.
Gol'grin wears dark brown Breeches with a open leather jack that falls all the way down to his metal soled boots (perfect for stomping!), adorning his belly is the traditional gut plate, it's rather worn and bloody, attached to it are two small chests often holding his various rewards and/or snacks.
(In a weeks time, I'll have a model posted to show how he looks exactly.)
Personality: To many Gol'grin is a typical, run-of-the-mill ogre. He is brutish, he is barbaric, he has little in the way of manners, is dim-witted and will almost gleefully resort to violence when it suits him. However, as a maneater Gol'grin enjoys the long journey, having travelled from the distant Mountains of Mourn have allowed him to be more sociable to other races than his brethern (that is to say; he won't eat you on sight), he particularly enjoys sharing his big game kills during feastivities, drinking, sharing his exaggerated tales of his numerous battles and experiences, all the while he laughs heartily at his adventure and that of others.
He is an ogre with pride, not going against his word and promises, meaning he is loyal to those whom he trusts. Those who underestimate him have found out why he earned the name "Gorebelly".
It is a well known fact that ogres eat anything that fancies them and Gol'grin is no exception, if given the motive he'll eat his deceitful employer, dead or squirming, it matters little to him.
Gol'grin also enjoys strong drinks.
History:
Gol'grin doesn't speak much of his distant past, claiming that many would find his tales of ogredom dull and uninteresting instead he enjoys beginning his stories with his first adventure; his departure from his mountain home. He often recalls the coarse touch of stone and the warm smell of freshly cooked meat. The roar of the bonfires that heated vast caverns, the bellowing shouts as ogres challenged one another for pride, food and fun, all the while the howling winds from the blizzards that raged outside. For an ogre such as himself, Gol'grin was content living with his clan. Content but never truly satisfied, for you see Gol'grin suffered from the wanderlust, the longing to travel beyond his mountain home and perhaps make a name for himself. Or so he claims.
When the time came, the ogre left for the unknown with nothing more than his trusty stone club and rusty gutplate he journeyed through the dangerous mountains that once were his home range. For many sunsets he trudged onwards, killing anything when he needed nourishment or when he felt bored. Many would claim that his journey was barbaric, slaughtering the weak and helpless. Gol'grin merely laughs at those words, those who he killed were foul greenskins or the marauding Northmen seeking glory and ways to please their dark gods.
It was perhaps during his third year traveling that he came across Nuln, he only had a small reputation back then, there were many stories about the term Maneater coined after the famous ogre who held that title after eating his employer. Naturally those who sought a relatively reliable bodyguard who worked for a small fee (at first) eagerly request Gol'grins 'expertise'.
