Ok that works. Do you mind, Trag?
At least she'd have the gang experience.

Is that better?
I mean it's nothing to change it

So since the outbreak, we haven't left the bunker? Not even to gather supplies like clothing or the like?

No neither of them otherwise the Rp would've started then, the former will be the starting 'quest' and the latter is only a subtext and barely one at that specially since....well you'll see.

WIP

CUE THE MEDIC! Or at least the entertainer...

Name: Amelie Poulain
Age: 27

Character description: Amelie has a fairly tanned skin with long, curled, dark brown hair. Her style looks a lot like that of Marilyn Monroe, a woman she greatly admires. Her eyes are also of a dark brown color, and they have a pleasant, friendly look in them. She's around 5'7" and has a slim, curvy build that most men would find attractive.

Character Clothes: Amelie had the misfortune of being caught in the outbreak during work. She works in a club called "The Golden Velvet". A gentleman's club hosting a range of variety and burlesque shows. Amelie is one of those burlesque dancers, lead dancer in fact. So when she first entered the bunker, she got a few strange looks. Her working outfit consists out of a dark red and black (the theme colors of the club) corset that accentuates her curvy figure, a dark red, short skirt with black frills, and fishnet stockings. She used to have a pair of black high heels and a feather with that outfit, but she lost those during her escape to the bunker.

Luckily she found some spare clothing in the bunker, a plain t-shirt -- too big for her -- and an overall. Amelie hails from a farm, so she feels comfortable in a overall. She feels more comfortable in pants anyway, dresses always felt so restricting to her.

Character Gear:
Large first aid kit - Found this in the bunker. Seeing as she has medical experience, it was the obvious choice to entrust her with it in case someone got hurt. It's in an handy large duffel bag, for easy traveling. This kit includes:
- Adhesive bandages (band-aids, sticking plasters) - can include ones shaped for particular body parts, such as knuckles
- Dressings (sterile, applied directly to the wound)
- Bandages (for securing dressings, not necessarily sterile)
- Butterfly closure strips - used like stitches to close wounds, usually only included for higher level response as can seal in infection in uncleaned wounds.
- Saline for cleaning wounds or washing out foreign bodies from eyes
- Soap - used with water to clean superficial wounds once bleeding is stopped
- Antiseptic wipes or sprays for reducing the risk of infection in abrasions or around wounds. Dirty wounds must still be cleaned for antiseptics to be effective.
- Burn dressing, which is usually a sterile pad soaked in a cooling gel
- Adhesive tape, hypoallergenic
- Gloves which are single use and disposable to prevent cross infection
- Goggles or other eye protection
- Surgical mask to reduce possibility of airborne infection transmission (sometimes placed on patient instead of caregivers.)
- Apron
- Trauma shears, for cutting clothing and general use
- Tweezers
- Lighter, for sanitizing tweezers or pliers etc.
- Irrigation syringe - with catheter tip for cleaning wounds with sterile water, saline solution, or a weak iodine solution. The stream of liquid flushes out particles of dirt and debris.
- Torch (also known as a flashlight)
- Alcohol rub (hand sanitizer) or antiseptic hand wipes
- Thermometer
- Cotton swab

There are no medicine in the bag.

Large metal pipe - Not much to say about this, its a large metal pipe she found in the bunker. Its heavy enough to fracture a skull, though its weight also means its tiresome to swing around.

Character Traits:
    - Profession: Burlesque dancer/med-student
Good
    - Nimble and flexible (through dancing)
    - Sweet personality (inherent)
    - Helpful (Inherent)
    - Good with people (inherent, training as med-student)
    - Stress resistant (Gained through med-school, inherent)
Bad
    - Easily frightened (Inherent)
    - Not overly strong (inherent)
    - Too curious (inherent)
    - Not fond of guns (WWII)

Character History: --Ignore this for now, just a name for me to remember-- Morcenx

I'm dropping out. I want in but I have too much to do to work on 2 CSs.

@MM & Asmo: What Arch said. You can, as I have stated, add that you were picked up some time after the outbreak occurred, but you should explain how you managed to survive in those conditions. It'll give your character some experience of the threats outside of the bunker.

@Asmo's CS: Perfect so far. Might want to check and see if some of those items were available in the early 50's though, otherwise we have a new addition to the group.

So the gas mask, can one have that has an air tank on the back and wears it more like a mask and helmet than what a real gas mask looks like?

I don't think they'd have those for civilians. Everyone in the bunker has a standard military issued gas mask. It's good enough to prevent exposure in Low to medium hazard areas.

Of course, they wouldn't. I was more asking if one's character could make that.

If said character has the knowledge and materials to make it then I don't see why not.

Time to look into the 1950 science fiction movies for names, like Plan 9 from Outer Space and Forbidden Planet.

I'm more interested in the why... why would you want to create such an elaborate device? I can't imagine oxygen tanks being easy to find in Washington, not to mention the intricate mechanics needed to let just the right amount of oxygen in the mask (you don't want to gas yourself after all).
And why would you want to carry around such a heavy load anyway? I don't think we'll be fighting much, I think it'll be running more and those oxygen tanks weigh a ton. Not to mention that the tube, from the tank to the mask, might get stuck behind something, if it ruptures you're screwed.

But that's just me nitpicking.

Yeah, I agree that it is cumbersome when everyone has lighter masks to use already. You could alter it a bit and add some things to it if you're an inventor.

That idea with the tank is for something else ( Also depends on the air tank size, not all of them are huge). For something regular, I just wanted a custom gas mask, something different looking, and the lens don't fog up as much, and the reason for that is for the look, something like The Question from DC.

Sure, MM. I said if your character has the knowledge, then it can customize it :)

Updated the items a bit, funny how the term hypoallergenic was introduced precisely in 1953

There's no medicine though... aspirin and the likes. So please don't get any infections or other diseases before we could raid a drug store :3

I'm changing what buildings are around seeing as I don't have a street map for that area from the 50's lol
So there'll be a hospital >3>
But what kind of hospital is the most important question.
