My arrival at this forum was accompanied by a renew interest in Flash animation, so I decided to hit two birds with one stone by making some cool stuff.

Animated Nergal Heart (Shown here, not animated)


After a lot of work, the Nergal Heart is done. I'm very proud but right now I would love nothing more then to get the thing into animated gif form like I had originally planned so that it could be a boss new avatar. If anyone has any idea on how to do this please feel free to tell me.

In other news I'm trying to figure out what to do next. I have two ideas that I really want to try.
a) Animate Nergal's explanation of the whole life death cycle.
b) Turn a few panels of something into an animated comic.
I think I can do both, with the former being a bit easier. I dunno. Any opinions?

It may not look like a lot but I'm proud of it. I should have made his hand move but I went in working on the string and after that was done making the hand move would have required me to remake the whole thing. Missed opportunity.

Still working on animating the actual page. I had a new idea of how to do it.
Does anyone know if there is any way to get pages without speech bubbles?

Not really, I think they won't hand it over because they're kinda busy at the moment churning out new comics, they wouldn't have the time to search and upload the pages.

It's an important file. You think one of them would just louse it in their MyDocuments? I don't want all the pages mind you. That could be sketchy if they just release stuff to one person. All I want is one page to see if I actually have something here. If so, then I'd talk to them about more.

Man, I suck at doing art. I am not unaware of this. My time is slowly running out so we'll see how much I get done. One cool thing, my... devil guy, I don't know his name, got over 4000 views on Imgur. That's more views then anything I've ever made. Neato.

Anyway, made some new sigs because I was sick of my old ones and wanted to try my new rotating sig. These are GT characters as RP player archetypes. I'm paying a game of Eclipse Phase so I've been interested in the subject. I like Mimi the best, she totally is a Min-Maxer.

I noticed that while most forms as you to upload an avatar, this forum asks for a reference. This got me thinking. Lets experiment putting a rotating sig host into the avatar reference. At first I thought it didn't work. Then I was wrong.
When I add the reference and hit submit, the website retrieves a random avatar, takes it's dimensions, and displays it. Every time a post is viewed, a new random avatar is selected, scaled to the first dimensions, and displays it. Pretty nice. Then I remembered someone (BloodLord?) saying that an avatar helps people recognize your post and I thought, lets see if we can screw with this. So I made some avatars and uploaded them all into the rotating sig host and set it as my URL. The lines help frame the pictures a little, and tie the whole thing together.

And some that aren't in the rotate-er.

I had a lot of Touhou desktops lying around so those worked great. I have no idea why the rotating sig host seems to return the same image on every page of the forum but sometimes doesn't. I like when it doesn't.

I'll play around a bit more. I have a feeling this might be a loophole in the file size limit and I want to experiment a bit with transparency.

Further observations:
From what i can tell, the rotating sig returns an image for a given period of time before moving to the next image. The website continues to reference the image and if the rotating sig rotates while a page is loading then it returns 2 different images. This explains why the same image appears in strings before changing and returning that for a while.

Thanks for the comment everyone. I'm happy to announce the wave of comments gave me the momentum to do a long promised project. That's right, I have animated (part of) a page from a Bleedman comic. Tell all your friends because I want some feedback on this.
Access to Excess from Sugar Bits because it looked pretty easy. This should have actually been out on Saturday but it turns out recording vocals is embarrassing when you live with 3 other guys.
Access to Excess ANIMATED!!! It's a flash video so you have to download it.
I wanted to lip synch but I was proud of where I was and didn't want to spend another 3 hours on my first comic. I'll do it on a later one (with a more defined mouth). Didn't bother much with the opening and ending credits either. Your watching for the comic.

What should I make next... I dunno. Any suggestions?

I remember having about 7 of these forum skills and thought I would remake the ones I remembered. I then proceeded to make a ton more. I don't really like them. They're too inconsistent and some aren't really skills. A lot of it was experimentation. I could also write longer descriptions. Whatever. Most of these are Maple Story skill icons and some of them have my own modifications.

Might put some into an animated sig. Who knows. If anyone has any other ideas I can make more.
